Zollie Chaffin
I appreciate your linking Zollie's memorial to his parents' yesterday. His name is listed as "Zeller" on the 1930 Census, so having your memorial linked will make finding his grave so much easier. Thank you so very much!

Olene Cassetty
I will be happy to delete mine since yours was created before mine. May I ask the kindness of you transfering your memorial to my care, since Olene is my mother-in-law's mother? Thank you for drawing the error to my attention.

Mae Davis Coleman
I've eliminated the link for Jefferson -- according to my info her father was listed as a James Davis (no further info). I receive links for many sources here on Find A Grave and have no way of knowing how that info came to me. The local Overton County historian shows her father to be James - I can't (at the moment) find a burial place for him to connect/link them. Sorry for the confusion and thank you so much for getting me to take a 2nd look at the data.

Thank you so much for the transfer! I didn't know a photo had been posted of her headstone, so doubly glad you sent her my way and I was able to see the headstone information and full dates. I really appreciate your kindness.

RE: Agnes Adcock Meadows Goolsby
Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I feel like even more a schmuck for waiting so long to respond to your question.

My husband's direct line of Meadows is through Jobe Meadows' son, Charles who married Rachel (MNU by me). I believe Silas was the son of Charles' brother, Skelton.

I would very much like to have a copy of Aggy's Will. I will email you tomorrow. It is so late, (or should I say early), that my eyes are going cross-eyed.

RE: Francis Marian Goolsby
Hi,

I'm sorry for the delay in responding to your inquiry. Francis Marian Goolsby did some legal work for my Meador/Meadows family while they were in Jackson County, Tennessee. One thing he did was to assist my husband's 4th great-grandfather, Jobe Meador/Meadows when the widow of my husband's 5th great grandfather, Isham Meador, was trying to obtain his Rev'l War Pension.

I've seen several Jackson County, Tennessee records with F.M. Goolsby's name on them, and I've been able to take away quite a bit of information from them. His wife, Agnes Adcock was married to a Silas Meadows before he was married to her. He actually represented her in court when she was divorcing Silas because he had abused her. I've recently tracked down Silas. He went north to Franklin County, Illinois after the Civil War. I don't suppose you know anything about Aggie's daughter, Harriet, do you?

Nellie Burgess
I am just thrilled with the work you have done. I have a large database of Pippins and Chaffins and Burgesses and Billingsleys Goolsbys etc, ad infinitum. I have a bit of a problem thought with the listing at Nellie Burgess Chaffin. You have her as being born in Oklahoma up at the top but in the body of the obit is states that she was born in Jackson County. No big thing but it could be confusing. I know where she was born and it doesn't bother me. I am an infrequent contrubutor to FindAGrave so you will see me from time to time. Keep up the good work.

Merideth Anderson Fox
What a lovely photo of Merideth's grave. There is something about your Jackson County cemeteries. The grounds look so very serene and peaceful and beautiful. I live in Texas. Because of the drought, our cemeteries look awful with grass and even trees dying. Even the gravestones are beginning to lean. But I looked at Meredith's gravestone. It's so straight and well cared for even after 80 years. Thank you for your response.

I appreciate your posting the photo of the grave of Leitha Fox. It looks as the writing on the gravestone will not last much longer. But it is with your photo that there will always be a record of her final resting place. Thank you!

Jefferson Stone Fox, Sr.
Thank you for taking the photo of the grave of Jeffie Fox, Sr. And a special thanks for taking a photo of both sides of his gravestone. I just couldn't figure out why findagrave had Jeffie Fox, Jr., buried with his father in one cemetery and with his mother in Old Mat Loftis Cemetery. Apparently, from studying your photo, the names of Sr.'s three children are on the back of his gravestone, but they are not--necessiarily--buried in the same cemetery. I appreciate your taking the extra time to post both sides of the gravestone.

I appreciate very much your linking Clarsie's memorial to that of her father. Don't you wish you knew why her parents decided on "Clarsie" as a name for their new baby? Perhaps I'll find her mother's gravestone soon.

RE: Martha Kirby Goolsby
Just really curious if anyone had seen or knew anything more or different from what I had. I have read all the court findings, followed the census, and saw the marriage between Martha and Goolsby...haven't seen a marriage between Agness and him. In Martha Kirby's line there is a Zeb Kirby that just makes me wonder more about what happened to Martha and if any proof exists...ah, the joys! Thanks so very much for the reply:)

RE: Martha A. Johnson Goolsby
I checked my cd of the SHC Section Book when I got home this evening, and Martha is in fact listed as buried there (to the right of Thomas in the photo I posted tonight.) Besides the other three whose markers are visible in that photo, there are 14 adults and children listed as buried in the two adjacent Goolsby plots. I'll be back out at the cemetery tomorrow, and I'll take some more photos to illustrate where everyone is.
