Daniel Shearer 18709151 does not have these parents
Hello! Thanks for all your work with Find A Grave. I must correct a mistake, however. The Daniel Shearer whose parents are John Shearer and Susannah Korns has record # 16759122. Yes, the Daniel Shearer of your record lived near the elder Shearers in 1850 census (Marion Co, IN), but the actual son Daniel had moved to Iowa in 1849. I have accurate family records to show this. Hope you can correct this record. Thanks! Jane Snell Copes

Didn't know if you were kin to him or not, but I just found a picture of him from 1905 in the newspaper which I posted to his memorial -- thought you might wanna take a look! :-)

Warren Kaye
John G Gardiner

Hello,

My name is Warren Kaye and I am the Colonel of the Kentish Guards in East Greenwich, RI. We are seeking to honor our Civil War Veterans during the 150th anniversary of this bitter conflict and honor, the sacrifices made by these men and their families. The Kentish Guards served with distinction in fourteen major Civil War battles as Co H 2nd RI Inf., thus earning the distinction for all Kentish Guards units to henceforth display Battle Streamers to commemorate those engagements. To honor the Kentish Guardsmen who served during the Civil War, we wish to reunite with as many of their descendants or relations as we possibly can. With them, we wish to hold a ceremony the date as yet to be determined in which the Civil War Battle Streamers will be formally presented to the Kentish Guard company. Would you been one of those descendants? Please write back to me if you think you are possibly related.

Regards,

Colonel Warren Kaye
