Michael, First of all thank you for all of the great work that you are doing with cemetery photos in the Cincinnati area. Second, I am currently working on the family name of Hayes in Dearborn County, Indiana. As a result, I have gathered considerable information on the memorial mentioned above. I would like request a transfer as the information that I have on this individual is extensive. If you wish, I will transfer it back to you when I finish. I believe that this would be easier than trying to post all of the data here.

In advance, I thank you for your cooperation.

Hi Michael
I Finally Found a thread to 'my' Homer - maybe. I can't read the headstone.

The JW Towner Book, pub 1910 has that Homer, son of Zacheus, died young and unmarried by drowning in the Ohio River - at this place where this headstone is - I assume.

He WAS married because I'm here and he was my 3rd Great-Grandfather. There's an entire branch missing out of the Towner Book. Mine. or I should say Homer's. (OR this is his son, Homer Zacheus maybe - he may have been the one that drowned).

Can you help me? If you are still here- your post says 2003 so maybe not...but anyone reading this...?
Homer coming forward - Hinman - John Gordon - Arthur Beryl - my mother Florence Towner-King.
Thank you so much for any help

Solomon Hayes
Memorial #19676042

You have Solomon's death as 1916. I believe it is a typo. He was a Revolutionary War soldier. His death date is 1816.

FYI: his birth info is
04 JAN 1755 in Unionville, Chester, Pennsylvania, United States

Thanks for recording Cincinatti area graves.

Andrew G
Joseph Lipps Grave
I have a few questions about your memorial # 67489554 for Joseph Lipps-

I am descended from Theodore Gregor Lipps via Andrew/Andreas Lipps (and so on...).

I've not yet seen records for Joseph or his sister Margarethe (or her Uphof husband and kids)-both of which appear on your Joseph Lipps memorial.

1- I've seen other genealogy pages that don't include them in Old St Joe's cemetery- where did you get your records for them?

None of the Uphof family members or Joseph Lipps who are listed as being in Old St Joe have photos of stones. Can you point me in the direction of where the records for these folks might be?

Thanks in advance.

James Riley Bayley

Some of the information is inaccurate for James Riley Bayley, especially his father. The father being Daniel Dodge Bayley of Tillamook appears in State Archive records but there are no sources to prove that. James' diary refers to him as Daniel, and not as father. I have a letter provided by the Lincoln Historical Society addressed to James Riley Bayley from his father, James R. Bayley of Plattsburg, OH in 1862. In the letter the father James refers to him as "son" and calls him Riley. He also asks him to give his love to sister Betsy and brother Daniel when he sees him.
I have not found proof of his mother.
James Riley Bayley was a well known doctor in Corvallis and Newport, Oregon. I believe he belongs in the "Somewhat Famous" List in Find a Grave. He was also a State Legislator, Senator in the mid 1860's as well as Post Master and head of the IRS. These facts are not well written but only giving you a glimpse of who he was. I would love to write a bio on him to prsent with accurate facts pertaining to his life. Thanks, Vicky McGee is the best way to reach me.

RE: John Link
Found it on Campbell County GenWeb. The main page has a "FreeFind" search feature about 2/3's of the way down. It can be a little tedious, but it's better than no search capability at all.

I had to search specifically for his name; I want to get a photo of his grave. He served in the same infantry regiment as my Great-Great Grandfather during the Civil War (23rd Kentucky).

RE: Mary Whitley
It is believed that they are buried in the old Goodall cemetery on the home place on Bear Creek in Union Twp. If I remember right Mary's husband G.W. is buried there as well.

I was wondering where is your proof that Daniel Bayley was Dr. James Bayley's son? I am a distant relative of Daniel and I have had no proof? Just wondering.

It was my pleasure to take pictures for you. It did start raining on me, so I didn't get to everyone. However, it's still warm down here so being outside is wonderful.
