George Miller
Hi John,
I finally made it to Lancaster to visit mg gr gr gr grandfather George Miller, but we could not find the GAR section. We rode the cemetery three times and couldn't find anything that looked like the GAR section. It was raining so were not able to walk around. Can you give us a landmark so if I get there again it would help me to locate his grave?
Thanks so much for all you do,
Dawn Diehl

You're so welcome. Anytime I come across an obit or funeral notice in old newspapers, I transcribe them and then either create a memorial and add the info or send an edit to add the transcription. And it's always extra special if it's for a veteran.
Thx for all that you do!
Wanda

Sorry but there is no such cemetery as Heller's Church Cemetery. As a local I am very familiar with the cemeteries in this area. Locals call Salem Evangelical Reformed Church, Hellers, as Heller's Church. I am going to have Find-A-Grave merge the cemeteries but I wanted to give the individual contributors a chance to correct thier errors.

Thank-you for all that you do for Find-A-Grave.

George Miller
John,
I am looking for information on George Miller. My gr grandfather was Ira Washington Miller. Really don't know anything about the family other than George was his father. I am the Virginia Division Recorder of Military Service Awards for the UDC. Would appreciate any help you could give me.
Thanks,
Dawn Diehl

RE: Steel & Hanson
I think that most of the Steel's in Philadelphia are descendants of James Steel who arrived in Philadelphia in 1682 along with William Penn. They started out as Quakers. I live in Lancaster County, PA and the Steel families here are not James' descendents. I think that the Hanson's are from Quaker stock as well.

John,

It was nice meeting you at Dad's funeral. It seems family only gets together at weddings and funerals, sorry to say it's the latter more often.

Would you consider turning my father's page over to me for upkeep. I would like to keep my parents together.

Thank you,
Carol McConnell

Baldwin and Miles Families
John~

It is great to see someone on Findagrave including resources from your diligent research!

I spent hours on an in-law of my ancestor with a very confusing past (remarried parents, common names, etc). But when I traced her back to your memorials for Joshua Baldwin and Rebecca Miles, I felt like it was all worth the effort.

Thanks ~Kay (kw)

You may be right but his PA Death Certificate states that he was buried in Mount Zion Methodist.

Hi John, I added the photo to Henry Parker's Mount Bethel Memorial. You may be interested to know that there are three headstone, adjacent, all members of Mass Co 54, buried in the Potter's Field at Mount Bethel. The other two are John Stotts and Stephen Burrell and I have made memorials for them. All the headstones are of the same design. Regards, Stephanie
