I was looking over his memorial & his son's.
In my database I have recorded them as Sr. & Jr. so I won't get them mixed up. I know there is a lot on Edward Sr.'s memorial already. This is only a suggestion. You might want to add Sr. or Jr. to their names & record their marker transcriptions. I know! They are clearly readable right now. But what about later.
I have family members were clear as glass to read then 4 years later they were in bad shape. I know the national cemeteries really take good care of them, but one never knows what time & weather could do to the stone. If not that's okay. Everyone has their own way of doing things. It's just a suggestion. You have a great Mother's Day.
Take care &God bless.

Was anything written on the back? Just curious.
I have another gentleman who married into the lineage & was in the Spanish American War also. But I have very little on him. This info on Edward is great. Thanks for responding. Take care & God bless.

Edward is a Father-in-law to my husband's Grand Aunt, Olena Loretta (Stanton) Harris. We both are veterans & want to let you know you did an excellent job with his BIO on the memorial. The photo of him appears to have been taken when he was in boot camp. It's an excellent photo showing a very sharp looking soldier. Have a Great Mother's Day. Take care & God bless.

That it fine with me. I live only about 20 minutes away from SH. My parents, my mother and father-in-law, and my sister-in-law and her husband are all buried there so I am there frequently.

I would like to pick up your photo request but Sparkman Hillcrest (SH) does not like to provide burial locations to volunteers, citing privacy issues. Your cooperation is needed in order for requests to be filled. The volunteers will need you to call SH and request the location. Their phone number is 214-363-5401. Once you have the location, please add it to your request. Thanks.

|Mike||RE: Duplicate Memorial and using my picture|
You said "It might be a duplicate, but mine has all the family information on it for anyone researching him, and yours has basically nothing. He's my great grandfather and I've worked on my family and him for over 35 years."
Proper Find A Grave etiquette is to request a transfer of the earlier memorial to you. You would not delete the original memorial ... which you would then modify as you desire.
Please read the FAQ ...
"Please note that it is not appropriate to request a transfer and then, after receiving the transfer, delete that page and substitute it with a new memorial that you have created. This practice denies credit to the original contributor. Please use the original memorial page to make updates and add information."

|Mike||Duplicate Memorial and using my picture|
This memorial is a duplicate of one created before
Also, you have used a copy of a picture that I had taken. I have to assume you had my permission to do that.

Sherry, Do you have any additional information on Alice's parents, Samuel Johnson and Rhoda Moore (birth/death/burial location, etc)? I am a Moore family researcher and curious to know what happened to Rhoda who apparently died around the time son John Johnson was born (ca 1854/1855). Am also curious if you would care to share your family line of Elizabeth Johnson and Oliver Harris (married 31 Mar 1906 in Henry County, IN)? I have had little success tracing this family - Elizabeth apparently went by the name Lizzie but that was no help either. Thank you, and the memorial has been transferred to you. Ted Crayne.

Tom Steele's stone looked like was more of a rock, and not broken. It was around several Pollards.

You're welcome. I live in Pa. and was on my way to Oklahoma so stopped there for a quick (unsuccessful) look for one of my own relatives. Really sad how much vandalism has taken place at that cemetery.

Will try again - suspect the photo may have been too large.
I copied and pasted your address, so that shouldn't be the cause.
