Thanks for your efforts for Findagrave. I didn't mean to sound defensive.

RE: Re: Thomas Eckler, FAG #66940360
Thanks DBT. I am not sure how that photo attributed to me got there. I have not been there. I am very much into requesting photos of all the Eckler graves to verify the grave is there and the information on the tombstone.

I presume someone copied that photo from somewhere else. Wasn't me.

That was quick. Thanks so much. I will be visiting their graves in the next two weeks. And I plan to be buried in that same cemetery = already have purchased a lot there.

Leonard L. Tucker
Looking at the Find-a-Grave Memorial for my father, Leonard L. Tucker, I noticed several errors. His mother was Lillian Dawn Sanderson Tucker (1891-1941). He had only one sibling:
William Tucker (1911-1979). The others listed are incorrect.

Source: The Evening Times, Little Falls, NY, April 27, 1994 - Obituary page.

The Salisbury Cemetery records list the names of his parents.

Many thanks for the work you do.

Elizabeth Ellen Trembath Tucker
Eliz. Ellen Trembath Tucker was my immigrant ggrandmother. The last child listed is in error. Leonard Tucker (my father) was her grandson.

Edmund, spelled with "u" (1888-1967)is correct. William John Tucker (1890-1956) is correct. Elizabeth Ellen had two other children: Eleanor (Nellie) Tucker 1884-1959; Elizabeth Hattie Walls (Lizzie) Tucker b. 1886 -.

Sources: Evening Times obituary, Aug. 18, 1938.

1900 US Federal Census Republic, Marquette, MI, Roll 729; Page 3A, E.D. 0127.

There is a very nice tombstone in the Salisbury Rural Cemetery, Salisbury, NY, Sec. A, Lot 34. I may have posted a photo of it on her Ancestry page.

Find A Grave Memorial# 181638146

Greetings - Thank you for creating the memorial for my great-great grandmother! I'm wondering how you know she was buried in the family plot in Calvary Cemetery? The obituary I found on does not provide burial details. Did you find a different obituary?

RE: Francis A Mather FHC duplicates
Yes, you are correct. There are two Ida Mathers in Forest Hill and I got them mixed up. There is another Find A Grave member who is helping me get them correctly linked.

Francis A Mather FHC duplicates
It appears that we both have entered a Find A Grave site for Francis A Mather in Forest Hill Cemetery, Utica, NY.

Yours is Find A Grave # 99079106, and gives a birth year of 1870; the one I entered has a birth year of 1868; which was taken from the FHC database.

Could you please look at both Find A Grave sites and let me know which should be eliminated. The one I made has several links to family members, but yours has a bio.

Perhaps we can merge the two sites.

Best regards,

PS - I'm going up there this week and will look for Francis' grave in Plot 56 A; lot 4124.

Hello DBT,

You posted an obituary for Rees Pugh (Reese Pugh) Miller Dutchtown Cemetery. Would you happen to know which newspaper printed it?

Thank you,

RE: Re: Henry M. Brownell, FAG# 137239024
Hi, unfortunately there is no grave stone for him in Oak Hill so no way to double check.
Looked up the notice again on Fulton History it was printed on Dec. 16 1911.
Maybe a different H. M. Brownell ??
Thanks Ingrid.

Per his obituary he was born in October not December. Further proof would be his son's Find A Grave memorial which has a family headstone with all the birthdays.

Good Morning,

I was looking for my friend and so happy to find him on this site. I just wanted to advise that his date of birth was 06/01/1978 as I noticed his birthday was missing. I uploaded a picture of the card from his funeral, I hope that serves as the verification you need.

Hello, I submitted edit requests to add her places of birth and death and to change her maiden name to McVey. Brown was her mother's maiden name. The source was her obit. Paul Turner

My relation is being very close with her children and they were unaware of Find A Grave and this memorial. I will see if any of them would like to make an account and ask you for transfer. Linda is a very dear person of mine and to others as well.

RE: Re: Orlando Burhyte
My cousin was telling me that he just remembers his Mom had 'a whole lot of papers'. To someone not that interested in research, I'm sure he was overwhelmed. I've sent him the Find-A-Grave links and hopefully they will make the information much easier for him to digest.

RE: Re: Orlando Burhyte
Hello DBT,

Thanks for updating Orlando's memorial page. My reason for requesting the transfer was to add his obituary and now that has been done! YIPPEE!

In case you are related to the Burhyte family, I will give you my relationship.

My aunt is Dorothy Marie (Douglass) Padgett. (She was married to my Mom's brother, Deo A. Padgett, Jr.)
Dorothy's Mom was Bessie Eliza (Burhyte) Douglass.
Bessie's Dad was Augustus Egbert Burhyte.
Augustus Burhyte's brother was Orlando Burhyte.

My Aunt Dorothy is in declining health and may not make it to her 97th birthday in September. Dorothy had given me copies of her family research years ago, before computers, and asked that I pass it on to her sons and other family members. My cousin contacted me 2 days ago indicating he knew very little about his grandmother, Bessie Eliza (Burhyte) Douglass, and asked if I could fill him in on his Burhyte and other ancestors. I have chosen Find-A-Grave as the quickest way for him and other relatives to view their ancestors, especially since Dorothy's demise may be eminent. I am currently entering Dorothy's FGR's and sources, etc. into my genealogy database and upon completion, will print out reports for her family.

Thanks again for posting the obituary. The memorial looks GREAT!

Ruth Roberts-Coker #46800776

P.S. I see that you posted Orlando's newspaper photo to his memorial. I was never sure whether it was ok to do that. There are a bunch of Xerox photos in Dorothy's collection and I will now feel better about posting them.
