Old Colesville / Peter Hough Farm Cemetery
Karen,

Not sure how this works, do you have ability to edit/update information for the Colesville (old) Cemetery which you own a bunch of records for? Or is there some other process for getting cemetery edits done?

If so, could you rename it to "Old Colesville / Peter Hough Farm Cemetery" perhaps to make it clearer it is not the Brink-Colesville Cemetery although the name (old) in it should be enough? A couple of the locals I spoke to about it including the man who's property it is on know it simply as the Hough Cemetery, and in lists of civil war casualties with Benjamin Hough in them it is listed as the Peter Hough Farm Cemetery.

More importantly though, the map location which is marked "tentative" is definitely incorrect, it is about a quarter to half a mile further north on Rt 23 and actually located several hundred feet off the road in the woods. An approximate address would be 1286 Rt 23, Wantage, NJ. Precise GPS coordinates for it are 41.287811,-74.650990

I uploaded photos of the few stones that are still readable. I have photos of the others that have fallen down and are too worn to read anymore, but there really is not much left there. Unfortunately none of the outstanding photo requests for the cemetery can be fulfilled other than the one for Arminda Hough which is done now albeit the photos came out poorly.

Thanks,
Chris

Thank you for the obit. Is this the entire text from the newspaper? If not and you have a scan of the original could you send it to me? I'll transcribe it verbatim. The info you found does fit perfectly with what I know about the family.

Lanterman
Lanterman family (Jehiel and Sarah Jane)
Hi, Karen,
Wow. Thanks for taking the time to research all these sites and for providing such great info.
I see you have a "million" requests here, so I don't expect you to answer this, but if you have time, great.
My 2nd great grandfather was Jehiel Lanterman and though I see you have his wife located in Newton Cemetery near her brother George C. Conkle, I don't see that you've located Jehiel. Nor can I find him, using the online tools I have. We even visited the cemetery this past summer and could not locate him.
So a few questions:
1. Are you related to the Lantermans or Conkles/Konkles?
2. I'm curious how you know his wife Sara Jane Konkle is buried in the George Conkle plot. When I check Newton Cemetery online I don't get a hit for her and when we visited Geo C's plot, I didn't see a headstone.
Again, I don't expect you to respond, but if you can it might lead to solving a mystery I've been working on for years.
Thanks,
Ken Lanterman

Adin Ralph Miller
Hi Karen,

Adin Ralph Miller, buried the Branchville Cemetery, is my 2nd great grandfather.

A.R., as he is known to his family, is descendant of Captain Sebastian Miller, which memorial I created and manage.

I was wondering if you would be willing to transfer this memorial to me and my family. It would greatly appreciated.

Joseph Miller

There is another memorial for him. Don't know if you are a relative or not, but the # is 12743958 ( yours is # 53253703) Yours has much more info on it. Can these be combined? Not sure how Find-A-Grave works.

On your memorial for Gilbert Drew (12222516), you have several notations that I'm not familiar with. Mainly (dec). Would you please explain that notation?

finding grave location
Hello Karen,
We walked all over Laurel Grove Cemetery yesterday and could NOT find my husbands parents and grandparents graves. Is there any kind of map telling the locations??? If so, where do I find it? I found their gravestones on the website so I KNOW they are there! The standing stone says GREEN - Rev. Harold Green and his wife Elizabeth Cuddeback. The stone lying just below it says Rev. Harold Green and is wife Mary Heck.
Thank you for all this great work you have done! It is greatly appreciated.

Hendershots in Laurel Grove Cemetery.
Greetings, again:

Do you think that this Joseph Hendershot #92040235 is the son, Joseph, mentioned in the newspaper article on Christopher Hendershot #178650548? (Note that one article from the "Republican Watchman" refers to Christopher as John H. Hendershot.)

All the best, again!

I just submitted an edit to link Hannah's parents. The Blauvelt genealogy books state that she died single, but the birth & death dates they gave are the same as this memorial. I believe they made an error. If you agree, the T on her headstone would stand for her maiden name, Tallman. Thanks
