Aaron Roe
Weaver Mills family
Hello. I'm a descendant of Jeremiah and Margaret Mills. My great grandfather is William Thomas Mills. I'm curious about the Weaver Mills family. I've found very few records.
My grandmother, Ida Mae Mills Roe had told me a story about an uncle I believe to be Weaver, but I think she used the name Walter or Frank. She showed me a coin purse with coins in it he had brought back from France during his time in World War I. She said her uncle had survived mustard gas. After the war--how after I don't know--he was walking on a road behind a horse and cart when an automobile struck him. My grandmother said he told the driver "you've killed me".
Was this Weaver Mills? How did his wife Sylvia pass away? The 1930 census says their children Dale and Maxine went to stay with Charles and Sarah Mills Stierwalt. But what happened to Dale? I can't seem to find any death records. The F. A. G. page says he died in Vinita. Did he die in the prison, asylum or hospital located there?
Also, I found a record showing Weaver to have married a woman with the last name McHargue around 1916, but I can't find her death or divorce?
I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks, Aaron Roe

RE: Stierwalt
Michelle, I called Leon's Sister IN Law, Anna Bowman Parks and ask her about Louise Bowman Stierwalt. Anna knew and remembered your Mom. Anna said that her Dad, Gerald Bowman was Double Cousins to Louise. She couldn't remember exactly the connection. Her Brother has all the family info, but he is in the Hospital, they are thinking about putting in a pace maker. After he gets over this and is back home, I will try to remember and call him and see what if he has the connection. His name is Roger Bowman and Anna said he lives in Adair. I have his address, but will have to locate it.

Richard Taylor Parks married Sarah Elizabeth Day in TN. they had Leon's Great Grandfather Robert Calhoun Parks buried at Chelsea Cem. Sarah Elizabeth Day died and Richard married a Sarah Elizabeth Grigsby, they moved from TN to Chelsea OK buried at Chelsea Cem. I can't find any connection to Sarah Elizabeth Grigsby to my family. Leon's GGGrandfather had a Robert Calhoun Jr. and he is buried at Dawes.

He married Susan Susie Parks, They had Edwin Clifford South, James C South.
Bur at Vinita Isaac Day, Judge George Washington Parks, Ruth Parks, Calvin Morgan Parks, David A Parks. There are 13 buried in the Parks Cem at Vinita, but I can't recall them right now.

RE: Stierwalt
Michelle, Some of Leon's family lived in Vinita. There was a George Washington Parks that I believe was a Judge that lived in Vinita and more of them. I don't have my info right now but I know there was a lot of them. There is a Parks Cemetery in Vinita, it has 13 Parks buried there. It is on some one's property. we knoe what road but haven't been able to locate it. I think our Son Mike found the location on Google Maps.
We went to a funeral at Afton and saw several Parks headstones, but I wasn't sure if they were our Parks.
Glen wife's maiden name was Bowman, Leon's Sister in Law was Anna Bowman, think they are related?
I'll keep watching for Stierwalt's, I found after doing family research that I was related to a lot of Chelsea people but didn't know it. My parents never talked much about their families. I knew Mom's imediate family that lived in Chelsea, but most of Dad's lived in other States.
What family of yours could be in Leon's?

RE: Stierwalt
Michele, yes I am the Betty Parks that had the Grocery store. I remember you too. I may have got the year wrong, I will have to go back and check, I just happened across the Stierwalts, not sure if I can find it again. Was there a Chris Stierwalt in Chelsea? There is a Chris Stierwalt on Fox News, he looks familiar. Keep in touch, I don't know if my email shows on F A G or not.

Stierwalt
Michelle, I went to Find A Grave where you enter the name, I typed in only Stierwalt, US, OK, Rogers co. 4 Stierwalts came up, I knew the 2 born in 1911. If I am not mistaken, they also had a Son and Daughter, not sure where they are now though. They probably left Chelsea to pursue better jobs.
I have a partial list of the Chelsea and Dawes Cem. There is a Lady and the Seaman-Blanke Funeral Home have taken pictures of both Cem or at least most of the graves.
If I can help further, let me know.

No problem, just glad I didn't settle for R.W. Smith and the gang he was buried with! I did post them anyway so maybe someone will claim them down the road.

William Smith
I have been able to find a Roy W. Smith with dates of 1853 - 1930. Could this be the same person? If so I can post. He is buried in a plot with 6 other Smiths i.e., Julia, Ellen, Henry J., Ruth A. Vesta, Vernon.

Stierwalt
Michele-
I'm searching for another Stierwalt that I believe to be buried in Chelsea Cemetery. I would love to add her to the find-a-grave website, but didn't want to add her until I knew for sure. Is there any way to find out for sure?
Her name is Sarah Elizabeth Mills Stierwalt; but she also went by Sadie. She was born 2 Oct. 1888 and died 18 March 1986. Any help you might give me would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Kendra Anderson-Keller

RE: Harris Pictures
You are very welcome.

There was a Price you didn't ask for.
Elmer Ehlers Price 1897-1979 who was buried next to Margaret Price. I took a picture of his headstone as well and posted it to his page.

Thought he might be related to your group.

RE: Pictures Taken
If these were photos of stones at Nevada State Hospital #3, you might want to send a thank you email to Chris at Nevada Habilitation. You can find it by googling. Chris is the supervisor of Kathy O'Connor, the employee who looks up the gravesites on the plat, opens the gate for me, and helps find them by poking a heavy crowbar into the ground till we hit a marker. Then it's dig till we find the right one.
