Lucretia Colburn Dillingham is my great-great grandmother. Her death certificate lists her parents as Robert and Nancy Colburn. What do you have that shows her father is James Colburn? I would be interested to know, since the death cert is the only thing I've found so far with her parents name.
There is a book called "In the Palm of the Mitten" by Berniece M. Chappel which is a kind of historical fiction, and that says her mother is Mary. Berniece Chappel is a descendant of Robert through his son Amos Colburn.

Would love more info, possible photos, etc. Please drop me a line at email@example.com or just respond here.

I have a question about this person! You left a comment about this person being married to a Joseph Bartlett. The headstone reads "wife of Henry D. Bartlett, who died in the 20 (or 26th) year of her age." Making her either 28 or 22. I checked the graveyard Brushy Chapel, and the County La Grange, In. and could not find a Henry but I did find a Harvey R. Bartlett. Is this the right Ann for you? Gene Steffe

Abner Way and Sarah Lillie were married in Washington, Berkshire, Massachusetts 17 Feb 1803. The above lady could not possibly be their daughter. Please correct this error on her memorial site.

|Sue Engelhardt Snodgrass||Edgar Conner - #14145897|
Please add obit:
The citizens of this township were never so startled since the death of Mr. Wm. Workman who accidentlly shot himself while hunting. Edgar W. Conner, on Saturday July 23, inst. an exemplary young man of 21 summers lost his life while bathing in the Walhonding River accompanied by twenty-five other young men, near the residence of Mr. Kidder Cummings. The Tiverton band of which Mr. Conner was a member were in a body attending a birthday celebration in honor of Mrs. Cummings, an aged lady.
After dinner Mr. Conner moved to go to the river and take a swim, which was seconded by another party and was made ago of it. Mr. Conner closely followed by Mr. Amos Tarrh were the first to plunge into the river from a high bank. It is claimed that strangulation caused by the leap into the deep water was probably the cause of his sudden demise.
No notice was taken of him until he sank the second time and assistance could not be given him in time before he sank the third time and last time to the bottom of the river and remained there. Death came unto him in less than three minutes from the time he left the bank. Over two hours were spent in finding his remains, which had floated down stream a small distance. Mr. Jas. Buxton of Walhonding and Mr. Samuel Sells were sent for and after a few minutes time the body was found. His father proceeded him to the spirit land many years ago. Interment took place at the Tiverton Centre Cemetery Sunday afternoon, Rev. L.G. Walker officiating. -- The Semi-Weekly Age, August 30, 1887
