I am hoping you will transfer a few family members to me. I am (as you know) slogging through Mom's tons of genealogy material. I make what changes I can on Find A Grave, then send the material to the Mercer County Historical Association.

These family members are related through the Neill line of my family:

40207812 Mary Margaret Romine Homan
40207794 Leslie Eldon Homan
21612337 Bertha L. Turner
40200150 Betty Homan

I was wondering if you or someone knew how to contact or who to contact that was in charge of all of the burial records, whether its the cemetery, funeral home, county court house.
I would like to contact them about records for various relatives that are buried in this cemetery.
I would appreciate it. thank you.
I don't know if I will be notified of a response, so just in case, email me directly at
I would appreciate the help
thank you

RE: T Kirk
I found the information I posted in a Mercer County history book. I hope the location of the cemetery is accurate. Hopefully, you can enhance the information on the memorial for others. Thanks for requesting the transfers.

Re: Thomas Kirk
Yes, I am related. Their son Francis Kirk was my 3rd great grandfather. Oh gosh! I can not remember just how I came to the conclusion of the cemetery being their resting place. :-( I am thinking I had a reason for thinking they should be there.... I'll have to do some looking on my Ancestry tree and see if I put anything there.

Infant Son Carrington # 40462499
Hi, would mind checking the inscription on the grave stone? Could it actually be son of S. and D.H. Carrington instead of what is list? The 1900 Census has Delana Sexton Carrington Potarf giving birth to seven children, but only four are living at the time of the census. She was the only Carrington that fits the bill for being the mother in the area.

Request for memorial transfer
I wanted to contact you about this particular Find-a-grave listings ( and ) - as the subjects are my second great-grandmother and great aunts, and I've spent much time researching her and her immediate family, much of it being futile in nature.

Artilis Holmes was the first known wife of Isom Holmes. The earliest documentation for both is the 1850 census for Polk County, Tennessee, which shows a 21 year old Isom married to a 19 year old Artilis, and under-2 daughter, Martha. The 1860 census shows the couple located in Mercer County, Missouri, with more children (John C., Demarcus, Houston, and daughter S.G.). The age difference remained the same. Interestingly enough, when Isom joined the Union army a few years later, he did NOT lie about his age, as he was actually 12 years older than Artilis. He gave his correct birthdate to military and later census takers.

Artilis died in Sept/Oct of 1863, four months after Isom left to join the war (at age 44!). She and two daughters (S.G. and an unknown infant) were buried on the family farm, which was located about 1.2 miles north of Highway 136 on County Road P, west of Princeton. Son Houston H. "Huse" Holmes and his wife Amanda acquired the farm from Isom at some point, and lived on this land for the rest of their lives, caring for his families resting places. My aunt wrote to me and told of visiting 'Aunt Manda' in the late 1930s, and recalls seeing the gravemarker stones on the farm, near the road.

The reference to Isom, Artilis and the two young daughters being buried in 'Moscow cemetery' is incorrect. Isom is buried with his second wife, Elizabeth, in the main Princeton cemetery ( ).

I would very much like to take on the responsibility of managing these family ancestors on Find-a-Grave, if you would be so willing and kind as to transfer them to me. I would be most grateful for this consideration!

Are you in relation to Ward R. O'Neal?
I think my husband is Ward R. O'Neal's grandson. My husband's father is Paul Revere O'Neal and Ward O'Neal was Paul's father. I think this is the right Ward R. O'Neal anyway. If this is the right Ward my husband David and I would like to thank you for sitting up Ward's memorial. Have a great day. Best Regards, David and Dianne O'Neal
