corrected dates
Greetings Rose - in my family search, I have come across William Miller Moad (memorial #12315331) who is my great aunts father-in-law. In doing my research and carefully looking at the picture of the head stone, the birth date is 21, not 31 and the death year is 1892, not 1897.
Are you a descendant of William?
Thank you for making the corrections.
Sincerly,
Dennis Reed

Jeremiah M. Morgan
Hello, Rose. I am old hand at genealogy too. Thanks for all you have contributed. I have a question, please, about Jeremiah Morgan, born 10 Dec. 1826 in Newberry Co., SC that you have on Find-A-Grave. Several family histories show that he died on 4 Nov. 1865, and one of the histories includes a photo of the application for a veteran's headstone, submitted by his grandson in 1933 that also shows Jeremiah's date of decease as 4 Nov. 1865. However, his last child, a daughter named Anna Lee Morgan (married Robert William Pritchard), is shown as having been born on 21 May 1867 in Edgefield, SC. If her date of birth is accurate, then Jeremiah could not have died on 4 Nov. 1865, but would have actually lived much longer. By the date of her birth, Anna could have been conceived as early as August 1866, which means Jeremiah would have been alive as late as that date. Other family histories show that Jeremiah died on 4 Nov. 1866. Do you have any information that could confirm Jeremiah's death in 1865 rather than 1866? It's hard to believe his grandson, a minister, Rev. C.J. Morgan, could have made a mistake and put down 1865 rather than 1866 as Jeremiah's date of death. Thanks for any help you can give.

Brad Love
Hugh Sevier Fuller
Rose Miller:

Hi, my name is Brad Love and I'm a detective with the Wichita Falls Police Department in Wichita Falls Texas. I'm currently researching information about Officers who have been killed in the line of duty here in Wichita Falls. There have been seven Officer killed here since 1927 and I am interested in writing a book about them. I came across Hugh Fullers information on this site and was curious to find out if you were a relative of Hugh's or if you knew any of the surviving family members. Any info you might have that you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Brad Love
