I submitted updates for the Legbands. I got the information from a book published when Snyder Nebraska celebrated their centennial in the late 1980s. The book is called "Life and Times In Snyder, Nebraska." Thank you for adding their info. :)

|Judy Ferrari||Heaton, Harriet and Henry headstone|
Hello, Beth. Thank you so much for posting a picture of the Heaton (Harriet and Henry) headstone. I believe this to be my great-great grandfather, Richard Henry HEATON, and my great-great grandmother, Harriet CHURCH. Would it be possible for you to transfer this gravesite to me, Judy L. Ferrari? I appreciate all your wonderful work in taking pictures of the headstones in cemeteries. It feels to me like a very sacred work. firstname.lastname@example.org

Wyuka Cemetery got back to me about Josephine Klaurence. Her name is on her daughters cemetery stone but the cemetery has no record of her being buried there.

I tried to copy Sarah's headstone to my tree, but it came in sideways, even though the photo was totally upright. Any ideas for help? Sorry, I'm technologically impaired.

Thank you so much for permitting the use of your photos and I am acknowledging your generosity in each one. I expect most of them will be Hawley/Hoffer descendants in Nebraska.

|Richard Weide||RE: August Ferdinand Carlson|
I am concluding that he is the first-born of Charles (Carl) H Carlson and Ida Louise Anderson based on:
a) 1900 US census showing the family there, with August F being the oldest child, and called a "son" in that census
b) The "Jones Family Tree" in Ancestry.com which also shows August F as the first-born child in 1878, and the marriage of his parents in 1877
I don't see any other way that August F. could be listed in the 1900 Census with this family, and called a "son", except to be born to Charles H and Ida.
Hope this helps.

Hello ~ I am having difficulty locating Lewallen Harris' wife Evelyn and I'm wondering if there might be a clue on the lefthand side of the gravemarker you posted for Lewallen. This is a case where a photo of the entire stone could be quite helpful. Any help you might give would be greatly appreciated ~ Jo C

|Robert Dunford||Carl Dubke #126733343|
I was doing some background checking on Louise Bethune (#37097762) an important architect in this area. Although she is not a relative I noticed that some of the markers in the lot where she is buried were not on Find-A-Grave and thought I would add them. I was confused at first that there were 3 people named Dubke buried there but no apparent relationship, until I noticed that the burial arrangements for Carl were handled by his uncle Charles Bethune, MD. Charles was the son of Robert & Louise Bethune so I would assume that the Charles F Dubke buried there is the father of Wilhelmina, Charles Bethune's wife. Carl's ashes are buried behind his father's grave and I believe is unmarked though I will try to check. I am not planning on pursuing the family ties much farther but thought you might. I also wanted to share a couple of tidbits I gleaned along the way. Charles & Wilhelmina's daughter-in-law is the actress Ivy Bethune (still living) and the granddaughter is Zina Bethune who died in 2012.
