Dr. William R. Hoard
Hello. This might seem a bit weird but I found Dr. W.R Hoard in a 1927 article ( Sherman Daily Democrat) regarding my great Uncle Samuel Taylor Atkins whom was murdered. He testified at Sam's trial in 1927 as one of his primary physians. Dr. Hoard was a Dr. that took care of my uncle at St. Vincents sanitarium ( Sherman Texas) in may of 1927 before sam died. I have been studying sam, those that took care of him and St. Vincents. is there anything you could tell me about Dr. Hoard that you would not mind sharing? I have a bit of information on St. Vincent's I would not mind sharing. Thanks...

Ephraim Witcher
I was wondering if you could tell me the connection, if any, between Ephraim and the Kirby family, specifically Josiah or Phillip?

Arthur R.Witcher

I note you were related to Reuben E. Witcher. I am too. He was my great-great grandfather. His son William "Dolphus" Witcher was my great-grandfather. William's only daughter, Ruby, was my grandmother.

Anyway, William had three sons: Arthur Ray, Claude E., and Lewis. I can't find any death or burial records for Arthur Ray Witcher, although I have looked and looked. I believe he was born in 1905 and died in 1961 in Lampasas, Texas.

Do you have any idea where he is buried?

Keith Meadows
Sarah Lucille Kessinger Ramsey

I was wondering if you knew who Sarah's parents were by chance?? I'm looking for a Sarah Kessinger/Kissinger that was born in the 1854 time frame and have not been able to find her.

The one that I'm looking for would be the daughter of Silas and Ann Pool Kissinger/Kessinger.

Thanks for your help!

Best regards,
Keith Meadows

Hi Michael--I have added photos for Walton and made a memorial page for Grace Johnson #170565913. I did not link them as married since I don't know.
You will have an edit to process for plot information. Peggy

Dorris Douglass
Mary E. Woods Sommerville birth place.
The death certificate for Mary E. Woods Sommerville who is buried in the Cherry Mound Cemetery, Bells, Texas says she was born in "Paducah, Tennessee" There is no Paducah, Tennessee, but the 1880 Census shows her as 3 years old living in Giles County, Tennessee of which Pulaski is the County seat.

Melanie Emelio
Dear Michael,

I grew up in Abilene, TX, and my mother worked for Leon at Quality Printing. When I was young, I remember playing with Mallory, although I'm not sure how she was related. I believe her mother also gave me some art lessons. At any rate, I would love to catch up with Mallory. If you know her, would you have her contact me via email? Thank you.

Parents were Nathan & Nelda Smith

Lillian Mae Kimbrough
Hi, Helps if i leave a message.

Wondering if you can assist me with this person.

She is listed on my missing great grandfathers wwii draft registration card and I have no idea who she is.

Is this do you happen to know if your great grandmother Lillian lived in Abilene, Texas around 1942? I assume she did as her daughter was born in Texas, according to her social security application.

The wwii document i am referencing can be seen at find a grave: Find A Grave Memorial# 73425306

Did she run a boarding house or have rental property that you know of?

I have been looking for my missing ggrandpa for about 10 years now and the quest continues.....

Mary Charlottie Elizabeth FaubionDooley
Mary Charlottie Elizabeth Faubion Dooley is my grandmother. My mother is Eunice Dooley. Does anyone know the correct relationship of Wallace Edwin Faubion to My grandmother, 'Lottie" Faubion Dooley. The orbituary says that
Wallace was my grandmother's sibling, but that can't be correct. He was born after both my great-grand parents death.

When I was visiting my grandmother, I always thought that Wallace Edwin was one of Uncle Wiley's sons. My grandmother always told me that she had one brother, who had been dead a very
long time.

If you know anything about Wallace Edwin Faubion, please let me know.

Ann Hunt
Isaiah Jefferson
Hello, I am the great great great granddaughter of Isaiah Jefferson and Frances Ann Ramsey Jefferson. My gg grandfather was Hailey Ramsey Jefferson and my grandfather was Henry Clay Jefferson who married Sarah Ann Hicks (Hix) on 29 Nov. 1888. He died 10 Jan 1895 when my grandmother was 5. I have read some of the posts but they seem to concentrate on the Ramsey side. Have you heard from anyone on the Jefferson side of the family.

Also, since Isaiah died in Pittsylvania Co., VA I assume he is buried in that general area. Any confirmation on that? My personal email is if anyone would need it.

Herbert Sherk
Unfortunately, I had to decline your edit indicating he was born in Pennsylvania and died in Tennessee. The Social Security Death Index (which I've posted to his memorial) indicates he was born in the State of Wyoming.

Also, regarding the other edit you sent me for him asking me to add the middle name of "Richard" to his memorial, could you please send me your source for that information.

Thanks in advance, Kathy

Hailey Bennett Ramsey
This side of the Ramsey family has been looking for a while for our great grandfather, and here he is. His wife Lucy is buried in the Ramsey plot in Petersburg Va. Blandford cemetery along with our grandfather and their son Isaiah, his son and our father Isaiah Rudolph and his wife Eugenia Tucker and numerous other family members are also buried there. We have hit brick walls attempting to find Lucys first husband but got lucky with finding an old newspaper article. Now we can trace our heritage directly to Thomas Francis Ramsey. God Bless them all.

I wonder if I may have your permission to use your cemetery photo on my family website. Check it out at This is how I'd be using the photos and obituaries I find on Find A Grave, with 'used with permission' in the caption.

Thank you.
