Old Waco
Edith Makeig Smith
Her death certificate has her buried at First Street Cemetery. Perhaps she was later moved to Greenwood Cemetery in East Waco.
I'll request they be merged.

I didn't add the daughter, she was listed as Mary Hays Watts in the Union Cemetery, I sent edit corrections to link her to her parents and changing the name of Hays to the maiden name instead of the middle name. She is buried directly behind them. The edits have not yet been approved.

RE: James and Amanda Mayes
Oh it took me a minute...they were Hayes not Mayes. Please save that death notice if you are related because they seem to disappear from findAgrave. I do wish it had been a sunny day instead of a cloudy one! Glad I could get these photos for you. The large tombstone beside them is H.M. Hays...can you tell me if they are related to them? They must be but I have yet to figure it out. James & Amanda's daughter is buried right behind them, I added her.

Thomas Pierce/Royal Palm Cem.
Hello Lynn, My husband and myself take numerous photo requests at Royal Palm Cem. in St. Pete.
We have the exact location of Thomas' grave - that being Block 512/4/4. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to locate his marker. Many of the older markers at Royal Palm have sunken. We poke around (literally) and have been lucky in finding many that way. We tried poking the area of Thomas' grave this morning but didn't have any luck. We will continue to look for his marker - hopefully we'll be able to locate it at some time. Don't give up hope.

RE: R W McRory
You're welcome. Unfortunately, the stone for N M McRory is made of stone that doesn't show the raised letters well. Most of the cemeteries have the stones facing east - this one has most facing west. But it really needs a picture when it's closer to noon. I won't be upset if you put in another request for a picture with a note that it needs to be around noon. I live about 45 minutes away so I cannot guarentee that I'll be back anytime soon.

I made the correction you suggested . In the process I became involved in researching more on the Stevens family which researching families is something I enjoy doing especially if it leads me to more family links and more family history being added on memorial pages . If you haven't checked back at Edith's page and Claud F. Stevens pages please do so and follow the links and read what I wrote on pages I managed in that family . While I am sorry I had a mistake in the date , I was glad to correct it and very glad that in the process it led me to research and to make changes , links , and add information on the family that provides more accurate and complete information on the family - not that we ever know the whole story of the family .

Yes, the cemetery clean up was an Eagle project for my son. That means Mom & Dad are fully engaged in said project! Many helpful hands did pitch in as well. It took the better part of 8 weekends to get it in decent shape.

You have my permission to use the tombstone photo. I am not sure if my husband worked on this particular stone. He worked on so many. I will go down there this weekend to check out current conditions.

It is my pleasure to transfer this memorial over to you. How do you like the tombstone photo. Our team worked like mules to uncover this cemetery from many long years of neglect. Before, you couldn't even see a tombstone. The snakes, barbed wire, poison ivy, deep holes from sunken graves...It was a sad mess. I am afraid that it is returning quickly to that situation. Because of it's remote location, nobody cares.

I,m glad your Dad is OK. Cordell and I do work closely together. I will delete your Dad's memorial (I'm sorry I even entered it) and hope he won't need one for a long time.

RE: Stevens memorials
As I replied to you a few weeks ago, the Dreamland manager and I are attempting to complete memorials that pertain to this cemetery. In light of that, I would like to ask if your father is deceased. If he is not, I need to delete his memorial. If he is, the dates can be sent to me for entry. Also, if he is deceased the headstone needs to be updated with that information. I will transfer your Mother now.

Lynn, thank you so very much for posting the portrait of Martha. It is AWESOME! It is the first photo that has been added to any of the memorials in this cemetery!
