JOHN AMASA MAY
Hi Dennis,
Hope that you can help me with this request. John Amasa May is my maternal third cousin. I have been trying to locate his grave site, but have been unsuccessful so far. Since you added his memorial to Findagrave, can you provide me with directions? Is it accessible to the public? I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks in advance,
Cathy Randall Welch Glover

Semilay Carter Todd
Dennis, do you have much info on Semilay (or Seamly)? I am descended from William and Elizabeth Carter, her parents. Have not been able to connect much to their daughters, and especially Sarah Carter Main.

We have distribution share documents from William's estate signed (or marked) by James Todd and John Main who would have been the husbands of the daughters. Would love to hear from you.

If you could send me your sources for his death date I would appreciate it very much. (I saw you added some info to a floral memorial.) I had trouble finding anything and I welcome the chance to verify and add the information to my records.

Dennis, someone needs to add Galivants Ferry to this cemetery name. Just thought I'd add that in since Horry is such a big place. Have a great day!

John G Anderson
Dennis, I was at the site today for the first time and noticed that the gravestone which had been laying flat on the ground had been set up in a vertical position along with the flag and CSA emblem. Do you know who raised the gravestone and when this occurred?

Also do you know the meaning of W T White which is on his wife's gravestone (Maria A)? By chance would you know what the A stands for?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. John G is my 2nd great grandfather.

please respond to my email address theduffer11@aol.com

Thanks again,

David Anderson

I photographed Henry's stone today but it was very hard to read and the angle I photographed it is pretty much illegible. I added it to his memorial as a photo only so the request could stay active. Sorry it didn't come out well.

RE: Todd Family
I have done a lot of research on my Todd's and I discovered that Joe J. Todd was not a direct ancestor of mine. According to Bill Mosely, my Great Grandfather William Chancey Todd, was a son of Joe's, but research and family interviews told me that his rather was actually Levi Frank Todd. His rather was William John Todd III so Joe is not my Great Grandfather as I always thought. At any rate, I need to get back over there myself as I live in Tennessee.

Hi Dennis,

You are certainly welcome to anything I have on our Todd family. I keep the tree on ancestry, but a good amount is information found through other sources. Please let me know how to send it to you, or we would be more than happy to send an invitation to the tree for your viewing, copying, etc.

Mary Jane Todd
Hi Dennis,

Thank you for all the great information and photos of the Todd family of Horry County. Dennis & Mary Jane Todd are both related to my husband, Dennis being his 1st great grand uncle.

Mary Jane, 86 and widowed in 1920 was living in Dog Bluff, Horry, SC with her daughter Vina and a boarder, Oliver Singleton, 76, a widower. Her death certificate states she was born in March 1833 and died 31 August 1921, cause of death 'old age', and parents were Richard Todd and Betsy Jordon. I am curious as to where the 1909 date of death on her grave stone came from?
Thank you you again for all the care you share with this family.

Sincerely,

DHD

John Garvin Identity
Hello, I found this record on ancestry.com and when I came to your site I saw that maybe there is more information on the tombstone for John Garvin than is given. Do you know what the writing at the base of the stone says? I am looking for a John Garvin who lived in South Carloina from 1790- 1850 according to census records. I don't know for certain that this John is my relative so I need more information. My family lived in and around Wagener, Aiken, South Carolina. I was wondering if there are written or filed records about this John Garvin that perhaps I could access.
Thank you for your labor and if you can share anything more it is appreciated. Sincerely, Brenda Garvin Kamka

Dennis Todd (died 1865)
Hello Mr Todd,

Are you related to the DENNIS TODD who was killed in HORRY COUNTY, SC in 1865 by citizens of Conway?

If so, can you clear up his children? According to what I know he was killed in 1865 but there are children attributed to his wife MARY JANE in at least 1866 and 1870. I cannot find any evidence she remarried.

I see you have contributed quiet a few photographs. I have copied a few and appreciate your work.

thanks

George

Samuel T Jenrette
Dennis,
You have quite a lot of data on the Find A Grave memorial to Samuel T. Jenrette.

I am descended from A.H. Johnson sister of Sam's wife Eliza Johnson.

I say that but have no written proof of A.H.'s relationship to Meshac and Rebecca Johnson.

Do you have any information that may show relationship of A.H. to the rest of that family, like a will or something?

Thanks for any help
Susan Gillespie
