I do not find any graves in Saint Mary's cemetery that would be that old. In Schenectady there are a few, like Vale, and some in Saint John's. Vale is our largest in Schenectady.

Hi Again;
A request for a photo of the marker of Abraham Cooper was requested back in July. I did look back then and did not find a marker. Due to the death date, I do not believe he would be in this cemetery.

The gate photo of Saint Mary's is added to the cemetery site, find a grave puts it on all listings. The person who manages the list may click on remove it from the listing.

Henry Hayes Lockwood
Are you familiar with Delaware Lockwood genealogy?
Would you know if Henry is related to my 4th great grandfather, Caleb Lockwood, born 1-27-1777 in Kent County, Delaware. His father, Richard owned a farm in Murderkill Hundred.

Wilsons at Mt. Wood Cemetery
Hi Cheryl!

We are working on a website for Mt. Wood cemetery and the history of those buried there. Would you mind if we use any of the photographs on the website? We will attribute them to you, of course. Any history you might be willing to share beyond what you have on Find A Grave, would be appreciated. You can send it to my email:

RE: Col. Thomas James Venham #7931630
If your 4th great Grandfather, Ray Venham (only son of George Vennum and his wife, Mary Hardesty to spell surname Venham) dates are 27 Mar 1773 born in Anne Arundel County, Maryland and 4 mar 1855 died in Tyler County, West Virginia; then yes he is a brother of Thomas James Vennum and seven other siblings. I have records back to Thomas' grandparents, George Vennum and his wife Pressilla Jones. Did your Ray/Rhea (short for Uriah) marry Rebecca Stewart and had at least seven children. Let me know if you need more information.
Your distant cousin,
Mary Richards

Jennifer Bennett Powers
Francis and Betsey Bennett
I don't know of anything new about Francis. his and Betsey's memorials were passed on to me and I left them as they were. I agree that his year of birth is likely 1747(ish).

I've seen:
21 Nov 1745 - Family Data Collection - Births Record & Individual Records
2 Nov 1745 - Rhode Island, Vital Extracts, 1636-1899
abt 1747 - Vermont, Vital Records, 1720-1908
1750 American Genealogical-Biographical Index (AGBI)
abt 1747 - based on the stone made by his son, Solomon

Sure would be nice to have a paper that we can see with our own eyes!

I added the maiden name disclaimer to Betsey's bio.

Booker T Washington Highland Park cemetery ohio
I don't have any information on this family. As I'm not related.

I've never talked to anyone at Highland Park Cemetery either,
Main Office: Highland Park Cemetery

Highland Hills, Ohio 44122
P: 216.348.7210
F: 216.348.7209

I'm sure your aware that the Cleveland Public Library has a necrology files on line. look under research.

If you've searched there before, also try Booker T Washington and than do a keyword search.

Hope this helps.

Texana Wilson article
Hi Cheryl, I'm going to e-mail you an article in the Sunday newspaper from Wheeling, WV . There is a Historic tour in the Greenwood Cem. this coming Sunday and one the people being portrayed is Texana Wilson. There are five pages I had to cut it down to scan it, I just thought you maybe interested in it. Also in April some volunteers reset some of the stones in Mt. Wood that had fallen off their base and the Wilson stone was one of them. Carla :)

Regarding your question
Where to you find so much of the biographical data that you find?

I use a variety of sources. I usually start with GenealogyBank. If I do not find any biographical material there - I use a general search engine like DuckDuckGo, Dogpile, Google, etc. I use a variety of search terms to find information. Sometimes I use the name of the person or their name plus a spouse, their name plus their place of birth, etc.

During the search process newspaper articles may appear from databases like This database is one carried by many libraries and can be accessed from home using your library card and your pin number.

Murray Hume Peck
Find A Grave Memorial# 76747687

The first sentence in the bio section is about her name change. I found it interesting that even her Social Security record was under the name Murray H. Peck.

Jeanette Tilsley Hume Sprague

(Mason) Amadon
Hi, I linked Nancy and Eliza Mason to their parents. I wasn't sure of the spelling on Amadon either but someone has posted photos so I looked closer at them. Nancy's son Herbert has a clear shot of a stone with Amadon and Eliza's husband Perry has the name spelling on his stone.

RE: William & Texa Wilson
Thank you!! Yes, My F.A.G. friend Elizabeth is great at making memorials & adding a lot of information, she does at GREAT JOB! I take photos of the gravestones & put them on the memorials that she does for the ones in my area. I don't think she is related to the Wilsons, you could ask her for a transfer on some of them. I just gave her a list of some of the Wilsons by the Pannells and I gave her the rest of the Pannells in that some family plot so she is probably working on them now and then I'll add the photos. Carla :)

RE: William & Texa Wilson
Cheryl, I tried to get good photos but it was hard because that mausoleum is locked so I had to take a photos through the bars on the doors. I did go back and take photos Of George Pannell's tall monument but it is very difficult to see. It is made of that marble stone that is most of the time hard to get a good photo of and the writing is high up. I will go back after the weather gets better and try again for some better photos. Carla :)
