Alice May Sherman
I also agree with Elizabeth (and I know as a relative of this family). Alice May Sherman was Earl's sister and she was actually Alice May Sherman Boyd. She was married to Isaac Scott Boyd back in Pennsylvania.

Thanks :)

Earl D. Sherman
Earl D. Sherman Memorial#5497838

I noted that you had Alice M. Sherman listed as a spouse.

I believe she was his sister. If you note on the headstone (David and Marie Sherman are on the opposite side) it lists "their children".

William and Irwin were David's step-children
Earl D. and Alice M. were their children.

Earl D. Sherman's wife(Edith Hapeman) died in 1969 and I don't believe he married after that.
See his obit below. It does not list another wife. However, it does list a sister, Alice Boyd. Also, they made an error in listing his wife as Mary Hapeman rather than Edith Hapeman.

Rhinebeck NY Gazette Thursday, November 2, 1972

Mr. Sherman retired six years ago as a machinist for the Staatsburg Tool Co. He was superintendent of the Elizaville Cemetery.
A charter member of the Elizaville Fire Company, Mr. Sherman also was a member of the Widow's Son Masonic Lodge, Livingston and the Elizaville United Methodist Church.
Surviving are: a brother, Irwin Sherman, Slingerlands; a sister, Mrs. Alice Boyd, Elizaville, and several nieces and nephews.
