RE: Gertrude and Lecil Andrews
Kathy, Because this is for you too, I am willing to send you a lot of information for the kids. I just need to know who the parents were and who the grandparents were. I know they will be thrilled. This is really a special family of the Grandmothers, Elizabeth Wallace comes from a long line of Earls and the Tudor and York families. I have proof of this but when I posted it, I received two hateful comments about my being "fancyfull". That word hit a funny bone as this is in another century. lol However, I did write to a secertery of the Stanley family and it is confirmed. Problem is, do we want to claim them??Sorry bunch. Anyway Kathy, I am going to lay claim to you anyway. lol You are just too nice.

Welton McClain
I see that you've requested a better photo of the Welton McClain marker. I'll try to fill this request when I get time.

In the meantime, I've updated his burial record on FindAGrave from my records. His name is Welton McClain, not Wilton, and he was born on 10/22/1914 and died on 11/06/1985.

RE: AZ, NM Info
Hi, I live about 70 miles south of Phoenix. I used to live in New Mexico but came back home. I did like New Mexico best tho. Have you tried the Veterans Admid or called the Phoenix National Cemetery. You might just try it. I got a lot of info on a Ft. Date in the nothern part of the state. It is deserted of course and far from anyone or thing but...there are the markers there. I found all the names in a history book and went baCK UP there. The bodys are not there anymore, they have been interned in San Francisco National Cemetery. When I do not know but. They all died withing 2 days back in the late 1800's by the Indians. I thought I could find family for them but I didn't have any luck. The other one I did is a cemetery in Florence, Az owned by a mineing company. Used to be about 700 graves there but there are only a dozen or so left. Now who would steal a headstone??? Anyway, I wrote down the name I could read and started looking.
One was Harry Truman's 1st cousin, one was the Senator for the Confederate Government. And there were a couple of others, all related. A man and his family had left Missouri for the Gold Fields in California and were never heard of again. Well they were in Florence, his son was the first sheriff of Pinal Co. and his daughter was to be marrried when she got sick and died. They buried her in her wedding gown. The Historical Society did not know anything about it. Wish I could get a job there. I at
least am interested. Now you know what I do
with my time. lol When it gets hot I stay home and work on my families. Thank you Kathy.

RE: Dittemore's
Kathy, Thank you thank you. I don't even know who of these Dittemores are. I am going to be consumed with this now. lol You know Kathy, I really did write to you to see how you were. What a surprise and I am so very grateful. Thank you again. If you ever need to find anyone or thing in Arizona or New Mexico, I am the person.

RE: Winifred Wamhoff
The information I have regarding Winifred Iris (Brubaker) Wamhoff follows.

Alvin Henry Wamhoff (May 23, 1915 Holyrood, KS - Feb. 7, 1979 Bird City, KS) married Nov. 9, 1941 Winifred Iris Brubaker (Aug. 21, 1917); 5 children: Stanley, Arlan, Carolyn, Alana, Louann
1. Stanley Fred Wamhoff (Aug. 9, 1942) married Harriet Ann Hargrove (Feb. 1, 1942 - July 26 2006 Ft. Collins, CO); 3 children:: Sheri Lou married Robert Langenberg, Bonnie Sue married Dwight Michael with child Justin, Lori Kay married Charles Crouch with children Taylor and Brandon and Caleb
2. Arlan Dale Wamhoff (Aug. 28, 1944)
3. Carolyn Sue Wamhoff (Jan. 22, 1947) married Jerry Rothfuss with 2 children Laura and Teri
4. Alana Kay Wamhoff (Sept. 7, 1949)
5. Louann Jean Wamhoff (Oct. 12, 1951) married P. Kerry Ingersoll

As stated in my earlier message, Winifred Wamhoff is alive in Loveland, CO. If you gave contact information (surface mail address, telephone number, e-mail address) I could forward it to Stanley and Alana, my second cousins, and they could make contact with you in the event you wanted more Wamhoff information. A compilation of family history ("A Heiken Family History, Emphasizing Henry Jurgen Heiken, With Some History Of The Gust Family In America", Bruce Henry Arnott and Louis Casimir Burmeister, Jan. 2014) is available through the Mormon Family History Center in Salt Lake City, Utah or go to any Family History Center in a Mormon church near you - the mother of Alvin Wamhoff was Pauline Heiken. It has information on other branches of the Wamhoff family.

Alvin and Winifred Wamhoff operated a hardware store in Bird City, KS with his brother-in-law Victor Frevert who was married to Alvin's sister Ardelia Wamhoff.

Thank you for responding to my message on the "Find A Grave" Web site earlier and for putting up the information there.

Winifred Wamhoff death error
Winifred I. (Brubaker) Wamhoff is still alive as of October 1, 2016. The listed dated of death of Aug. 1981 in the Bird City Cemetery in Bird City, KS is erroneous. She lives in Loveland, CO near her son Stanley Fred Wamhoff in Fort Collins, CO.

I am not related to Wade in any way. I went to school with him from 2nd grade until he turned 16.
We were not close but the school was so small his death hit the entire school hard.

RE: Edwin Ebersold
Sorry I have taken so long to reply. I have not felt very strongly about "owning" family members memorials until quite recently, Most people like you have been so kind and willing to make edits or share with relatives. A very recent incident has caused me to rethink this. If you are still willing to transfer Ebersold memorials to me, I would appreciate it. My husband and I plan on working on more pictures and genealogy this summer. Thank you!

Lloyd Brill
I'm not related, but I searched his parents on ancestry and there's a Jacob and Ethel in the 1940 census, living in Bremen, Cook Co, IL and a S S Death Index record for Jacob Brill born 22 Sep 1898 and dying in Apr 1979 in Blue Island, Cook Co. IL. I guess if his is the Jacob you're looking for, I'd look for his burial records in Cook County, IL. Good Luck. Kathy

You are welcome. They are beautiful and the cemetery is well-maintained. If you do get there, they are located just behind the church building on the property. Fred's is further away.

RE: Edwin Ebersold
Sorry, I've taken so long to reply. Although I feel that we are fairly young in our 50's, my husband seems to have gotten all the bad health genes from the Ebersolds and has been seriously ill for the second time in less than a year. If you don't mind transferring the Ebersold memorials to me, I would like to have them. My husband, Edwin, is named after his uncle Edwin whose memorial you created.

I can't imagine where else he could be buried. It wasn't because his father had purchased all the grave sites?
