Nicholas was the brother of my great great grandfather James Ambrose Holstine. He was married to Susan Dunbar in VA/WV. He was in the Confederate Army during the civil war.
He was the son of Hugh and Sarah Holstine of Mercer Co. VA/WV.
His father, Henry, was married to Martha Dillion

Sharon - Will you please transfer Nicholas Holstine #92928739 and Elkansas Holstine #92806305
to me? They are not relatives, I don't think, but I want to establish their relationship to the Dillions and to identify them. It will be simpler for both of us if I don't have to run whatever I find through edit. You seem to be very busy. I will gladly transfer them back when I'm satisfied that I've found all I can. This is probably a strange request but hope you will agree. Thank you, Wilda #47569167

Sharon - I'm not sure how you got involved with this cemetery, but hope you will find time to OK the changes I have requested. I think its important to get these people identified. I've added
Christopher's parents since they were living with him or near him in Missouri and its very unlikely he would have buried them any place else. Same with his oldest brother, George.
I've ask you to change Riley's wife from Virginia to Jennie. That's the name carved on their tombstone, it's the name on their marriage record, on his obit and on his probate record. I just found their son Reuben's obit and they call her Virginia - but then I don't know who wrote it. I have Feltmann and Polette's booklet on the cemetery and they list her as Virginia. What do you think is best? Wilda Dillion

I have been attempting to track you down for some time. My grandmother Josephine is related to your family. I attempted to obtain a photo of her brother (Valentine's) gravestone (per your request) but it has been removed from Freeport City Cemetery. I saw it on previous visits many years ago and cannot obtain an explanation as to it's disappearance. I wanted to let you know that there was a gravestone but that it is no longer there and that I will pursue it's location. I believe it may have been re-located after Esther passed. Unfortunately. I have thus far been unable to track her burial site.

Thank you so much for entering this photo of my great grandfather's grave marker. Having visited his grave at the land locked Boydston Cemetery, I know how much effort it took.

Would like to thank you for adding the pictures to the Nelson's in the Jonesburg City Cemetery.
I Have pictures of all the graves but was unable to add them. Find A grave said they were to big.
Doing genealogy on the family was wondering if you had any connection.

As I well know, taking photos of tombstones often takes a lot of time & patience. You're right. It always helps to have a whisk broom & water handy. Makes a big difference in the photo. I appreciate all of your hard work.
