Isaac Harget
Thank you for taking and recording that nice photo of the gravestone of Isaac Harget. He was my GGGG Grandfather.. We were there long ago and took a photo as well, but I am glad that it has now been recorded.

I have not been able to find any more about Isaac and Jerusha's families. I don't even know her maiden name, so perhaps someone some day will know and record it.

Jerusha Hargett
My ancestor is Jerusha Hargett. . I have her birthdate as about 1768 and her death date as 1837. We paid a visit to the Kent Corners Cemetery a number of years ago and found only two flat stones for Jerusha where her stone had originally been. The writing on the stones was illegible. The source of my information is
Portage County Cemeteries Vol II, Brimfield Twp and Suffield Twp, 1808-1991, page 195
Portage County Historical Society
Kent Corners-Cemetery Suffield Twp Row 10

How does this fit with the information you have as a source?
Perhaps there was another source of the information on the stones or other reliable information?

Mary Lee Young

The inscription I had from this source was
Gravestone inscription: Jerusha, consort of Isaac Harget died Sept 14, 1837 age 69 yrs.
2 flat stones illegible

Thanks, Ed. I added the picture of the 9 Seiberling siblings. I also realized we have a picture of CLMS as an older woman if you'd like to make room so it can be added.

Thanks!

Catherine Lucinda Miller Seiberling
Hello Mr. Ed -

I have a very nice picture of all of the Seiberling children that you might like to make room for on their mother's page (Catherine Lucinda Miller Seiberling). My husband's grandfather - Theodore Seiberling Pflueger - was one of four sons of Julia "Ruth" Seiberling Pflueger, the youngest of Catherine Seiberling's 9 children.

I'm going to put it on Ruth's page if you'd like to see it.

Sincerely,

Lisa Russell Pflueger

JoAnne
Aaron Morriss family
Mr. Ed,

I was working in the Tallmadge City Cemetery, Summit, Ohio and ran across the stone of Aaron Morriss and family. I was quite impressed with the size of the Morriss stone, it is so BIG. I was thinking that this family had money, or some reason to have such a big and tall stone of black granite or whatever it is. Do you have any insight as to why such a huge stone?

I am not related, just wondering. I am working on a cemetery restoration project for this cemetery, resetting fallen stones, etc. Also working on veterans stones in this cemetery.

I understand about the cause of death. so often these suicides that are pre-1933, before social security, you have to put into context the times, the troubles and the lack of any system to fall back on if you hit hard times. One family that i followed had a couple of children die in quick succession and father was unemployed. modern kids, especially, today do not appreciate what struggles our ancestors went thru and what hard times really are... it isnt just that your internet went down for an hour, or someone unfriended you on facebook... you put the cause in discreetly...thanks
regards,
c. walker

I was reading through some Find A Grave postings and I came to the Korean War Veterans Memorial. I don't remember writing the following words being more than 10 years ago.

"My father fought in the Korean War. It hurts him when he finds that people don't even know there was such a conflict. People are educated on World War II then the history book jumps to Vietnam with little or no mention of Korea. I wish he would receive more recognition but he doesn't want it. He wants the recognition and respect to go to those who never came home. That is why I wear an MIA Bracelet in honor of a lost soldier of this war. This POW-MIA flag is for them. I will close with my father's saying, "Rest easy my comrades, until we form again." May they all rest in peace. "

Thank you for using my words. My father served in the 11th Airborne Division at then Camp Campbell Ky. then in the 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team in Korea ending in honorable discharge on 04 JAN 54. He passed away on Feb 2007 at the age of 74. He was a boisterous larger than life figure but mention Korea and he would become quiet and solemn. He never forgot those who never came home and quietly lived with survivor's guilt. He was uneasy with recognition but was graceful when it was bestowed upon him. At his funeral, between the VFW, American Legion and Hispanic American Airborne Association he was given a send off befitting a paratrooper. We miss him everyday. May he and his comrades rest in peace and thank you sir for your service.

Charles Reid Metzler #119333772
Veterans' Administration records show Charles Reed Metzler (1886 - 1935) was cremated in the Florida Keys after the 1935 Labor Day Hurricane. Is Charles Reid Metzler the same person? If so I'm guessing he has a memorial, not a grave, at Mount Peace Cemetery, Akron, Ohio. Could you verify this?

Thanks

Thank you for posting the photos. It is nice to see a photo also that has a few close headstones of relatives around and marked on the photo who every headstone belongs to. That is not done much and very appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to do that. Very peaceful setting.
