GAYNELL---Hello YEAH, That is me (JOE). We talked about the one off BAUM HOLLOW ROAD and I entered the folks we(the wife and I) found there AND how someone put the WRONG GPS for your McReynolds homestead, Robinette Cemetery.

You told me it is near Stallard Cemetery? and off CARFAX Road but I sure can't see it from satellite. Getting old eyes. I would love to get it right. I have the one off BAUM Hollow here which are the RIGHT GPS for this tiny cemetery:

I know some may not be happy with the name but it seems we did not need yet another Robinette and the GRUBB are an old family there.

I live in Maryville, TN so not sure when I will get back over there to get the Robinette Cemetery off Carfax right.

Blevins Cemeteries in Russell County, VA
Hello Gaynell,

I noticed you took photos and made entries at this Blevins Cemetery on Find A Grave:

I would like to get it's map location added to the cemetery as well as on a cemetery map of Russell County that I have created. Could you tell me where it is located? Here's a link to my cemetery map that might help:

Also, I noticed you made this entry for Elizabeth Robinette Blevins:

Do you know if she is buried in the same Blevins Cemetery or a different one? If a different one, do you know where it is located?

I tried to send an email directly to you but it was rejected. You can email me if you'd like to at

RE: brummitt
Lulu was a first cousin to my father. Their fathers were brothers......sons of William Pinckney and Malinda G. Britt Brummett. Dad's father was Thomas Jefferson Brummett and Lulu's dad was Stephen David Brummett. Until I met Kayla Hyder all I knew about Uncle Dave was what I found in the 1880 census. Dad and none of my older cousins ever mentioned him. And it is possible they never knew about him since Kayla's info is that he died in 1894 of typhoid fever. Dad was born in 1912 so he never met his grandfather who died in 1906 or his grandmother, Malinda, who died about 1894. However he knew his aunt Sarah Louise "Aunt Lou" who didn't die until 1923 and a couple of the other brothers.

BTW I put a picture of Emaline on the Hyder cemetery that I got from Kayla.

RE: Family
Hello Gaynelle,
I just now saw your message! I'm sorry that it has been such a long time. I have been very ill
for the last year and haven't kept up with things.
Yes, Roy Bush was my mother's father. I know she
had pictures of him. When she passed away, my
sister Virgie kept most of the pictures. Virgie has also passed and her daughter has the pictures.
If I can locate a picture I'll let you know and you
would be welcome to it.

RE: William Harvey Robinette
I believe it is, tho the research was done by a distant cousin, Rebecca (Trent) Hosein of Ft. Blackmore, VA, now living in Carter Valley, near Churchill, TN..... she did the C.H., local research way back in 2004 or so.... I have not followed up with research of my own, assuming that she got it right.. over the yrs. since it seems that she did find the right ones, in that whole Thomas B. Trent line from Franklin - Grayson - Wise Co., VA areas... Are you connected to to Harvey?

Kerley thank you
Thank you for posting the headstone photo. I assume this is the new stone added by Old Dominion after the re-location from Virginia City. I am the sole surviving son of Forest Kerley, Cecil's youngest brother. I have also developed a tree for the William F. Wright family, as they have no male heirs. If you are on, my tree is under Kerley-Adams Family Tree.
I am also assuming, by your maiden name, McReynolds, that you are related to that Wright family.

Stella Bush Casteel Murphy
Hello, I am descended from Arthur Casteel and found your photo of Nathan Casteel and Mary Kennedy's grave. Reading previous comments I found someone asking about Stella Bush. I too am looking for info on her. I believe she was the second wife of my grandfather Omar Casteel, but have found no records to prove the fact. Omar married Garnett Barker on 12 Oct 1920, and he may have fathered a son Charles by her. Family lore says Omar divorced her and married Stella and had two sons Calvin and Grover. I do know Omar married Ethel Ramsey 30 January 1927. The 1930 census shows Calvin and Grover living with Stella's parents and I believe she remarried a man named Murphy. Any info you can add or correct would be gratefully received.

thanks so much,

RE: question
I wrote to and asked them to do the correction I was requesting and they transferred to me.

I have run across this situation several times and the Mary Horne memorial is the only one that any action has been taken.

It is very frustrating to request a link or correction from a contributor who is anonymous or one who does not respond. Sometimes I have put the additional information in the "flowers" comment.

If you find out how to resolve this issue please let me know.

RE: Casteel
That is what I have her. I had that she married a Casteel and had Calvin and Arnold Grover Casteel both in the early to mid 1920's...Then, in 1930 Stella is shown being married to a Walker Murphy into the 1940's in Dungannon , Va.

Did she marry Rudy after Mr. Murphy ?....and was Harless her firs husband.
