Smith Family
I am working on my Smith family. My grandmother Ella Smith is Eliza's sister. Loved getting to see a picture of Eliza on here. If you can help me with any info I would appreciate it. I have a picture of Eliza's mother and pictures of Eliza's daughter Rosie's children, dated around 1906 or 07. I also have a letter written by D. Riddle from Eliza dated 1943. I would love to work on the Smith family with you. My email is: I will be waiting to hear from you.

Your cousin,

Henry Pitts 1st wife
Hi Lisa I am researching some branches of my CASH family.
I am looking for definite information on Bertha C. Allen who fits the time line of Henry's 1st wife listed on the 1940 census record Henry & Bertha with sons Joe Etton & James H. She may have been 10 years older than him if the date on this record is correct.
Her parents were David Oliver Allen and Millie Lou Cash.

RE: my stepfather Jerry H Parnell
Yes it is in Oakwood, Sheffield. Whenever I get requests for a cemetery I usually make extra pictures of some surrounding graves. I try to get the military ones especially so I guess the gravestone you mentioned was there too but I just got a pic of the military one. I'll be glad to get the other if you click on it for me to do so.

Ronald Triplett
RE: Clyde Triplett
Hi Lisa, nice to meet you. I read your message and it set me back. I did not know that my Grandfather, Clyde Triplett was in prison. Can you share some information on that? Did you know that Clyde was killed in a bank robbery attempt with his half brother and a guy from Canada in September 22, 1927 in Cherokee Alabama? If this is of interest to you, let me know and I will call you. I have copies of several newspapers of the event. I even have actual pictures of the Bank in Cherokee of present time.
Thank you,
Ronald Triplett

Hello Lisa! I was on Johnson Rake Riddle's virtual gravesite and saw your comment to Mary Mary Cranfill stating that JRR was your ggg grandfather. He is my gggg grandfather - his son Jessie "Hook" Riddle is my ggg grandfather - his daughter Naomi Sanders was my gg grandmother - her daughter Idora Cook/McCellan was my great grandmother. I'd love to chat more with you and learn more about the Riddle family line!

Pitts Jordan
Sorry hit the leave message before I was done. My third gr uncle Newton A Pitts lived in Lauderdale County. If my memory serves me right his whole family can't be found after the 1920's cencus, however I feel that they must be a mistake somewhere because there is no record of his death nor any of his kids.

RE: rempe
:) I agree! I am a firm believer that people are not dead until they are forgotten. This site gives a wonderful platform that keeps them alive and visual in our thoughts and minds! I have to start adding the tombstone pictures of random stones I have taken in my tavels. maybe someone else can benefit like I have!

RE: Roscoe Bruce

could very well be Roscoe Coleman Bruce, Roscoe did not die until 1944 in St. Germaine France, he drowned off a ship.
he is buried in the mausoleum at Kilpatrick Cemetery, Kipatrick Alabama, with his mother and father William Matthew Bruce, my great grandfather.
I do have a Dave Tidwell, is he related to the Herman Tidwell that was pall bearer too???

you may email me direct if you wish too

Hi Lisa,

Yes Verna was married to Thomas Pitts. He was her second husband. Please look at the memorial again. My dear friend that owns the memorial has added links to the husbands.
