Son of Eva Bell Myers and Leeman Keith Barney, he graduated from Enid High School in 1956. He retired from the City of Enid in 1999, after 16 years of service. He was survived by his wife, Carole Dotson (married in 1970); six children; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and an extended family of relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. His funeral was held on June 3, 2009, with The Rev. Richard Fleig officiating.
