BORGIA. Alexander Borgia, 78, husband of Margaret ''Peg'' Borgia of Glastonbury, died of cancer Tuesday (July 19, 1994) at home. Born in New York City, son of the late Dominick and Filomena (Felicione) Borgia, he was an accomplished pianist at the age of eight. He was a graduate of City College of New York. He completed 50 years of meritorious federal civil service, having worked as supervisor for the Navy Plant Representative Office, then the Air Force Plant Representative Office, and finally in 1990 the Defense Plant Representative Office under the Defense Logistics Agency stationed at Pratt & Whitney, East Hartford. Mr. Borgia was an aerospace engineer responsible for overseeing military engine contracts. He also taught classes in electronics at the New England Technical Institute and the Hartford Technical Institute. He devoted most of his life to ham radio, and was a longtime member of the American Radio Relay League. He held an FCC amateur radio extra class license (W1PHG), w as a member of the Hartford County Amateur Radio Association, where he served as club president and chairman of the Committee for Investigation of Broadcast and Television Interference, volunteer examiner and instructor. Mr. Borgia delivered ''Meals on Wheels'' for 20 years in the Hartford area. Besides his wife, he leaves three daughters and their husbands, Lucretia and Larry Seidel of Glastonbury, Alexandra and Phil Pearson of New Hampshire, Mona and Stan Czyonik of East Hartford; three grandchildren , Lisa Seidel of Glastonbury, Brian Seidel of Vail, Colo., and William Pearson of New Hampshire; a brother and sister-in-law, Cesare and Marjorie Borgia of White Plains, N.Y. Funeral service will be Friday, 10 a.m., in St. Paul's Church, Glastonbury, fo llowed by burial in St. Augustine Cemetery, South Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Radio Relay League, 225 Main St., Newington 06111-1494, the Glastonbury Visiting Nurses, 969 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury, or the Glastonbury Volunteer Ambulance, P.O. Box 453, Glastonbury.
