Clarence Darwin Miller died October 31, 1970, in Seaside, Oregon. He was 63 years, 4 months and 16 days old, having been born June 15, 1907 in Hillsboro, Washington County, Oregon, to Joseph N. and Laura (Francis) Miller. In 1913, he moved to Clatskanie with his parents, and after his schooling he worked on his family's dairy farm for a few years. He moved to Seaside, Oregon, in 1933 where he worked in the shingle mill. Two years later, December 4, 1935, he married Electa in Vancouver, Washington.
Clarence purchased a tire recap and repair business and operated it for several years. After selling the business, he became a salesman for the DeCicco Tire Company and served the peninsula and south on the coast to Coos Bay.
He was a member of the Evergreen Lodge AF&AM; Seaside Lodge of Perfection Scottish Rite Bodies; Past Patron Maple Chapter OES.
Clarence was predeceased by his wife, Electa Colvin. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. P. F. (Vivian) Jaspers; and Mrs. L. J. (Melba) Wilkinson; a niece and a nephew.
Memorial service was held November 4, 1970 at 2:00 p.m. by Richard Hadeen of Seaside Baptist. Interment beside his wife at Ocean View Cemetery. Notice was published in the Astorian.
