He was born February 19, 1930 in New Carlisle the son of William "Earl" and Myrtle (McFarland) Heidorn. Bill was a 1949 graduate of Cedarville High School, excelling in all sports, especially baseball and basketball, where he merited tryouts for professional teams. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and retired from Steel Products, where he was an avid bowler on the SPECO Team.
He is survived by six children Deanna Jean Shelor of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Randall Earl and Douglas Edward Heidorn of Springfield, Jerry Lee (Cheryl) Heidorn of Enon, Elaine Ruth Miller and Jill Ann (James) Lambert of Springfield; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Heidorn; two sisters Joann Young and Betty Haynes; and a brother Don Heidorn.
Friends may call Tuesday from 11AM.-1PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:00 PM. in the Memorial Home with Pastor Rick Ives officiating.
