Services for Marvin Hunt Pickett, 65-year-old retired carpenter of Route I, Smithdale. will be 2 p.m. today in Ramah Baptist Church in Franklin County Visitation was to continue in Hartman Funeral Home in McComb until service time.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Harry McGuffey and the Rev. Terrell Stringer will officiate. ,
Mr Pickett died Nov. 3 in St Dominic's Medical Center in Jackson following a lengthy illness. Born July 1, 1919. he was the son of William and Annie Laird Hunt. He was a veteran of the U.S. U.S. Navy in World War II and was a member of Ramah church
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Nell Pickett of Smithdale; his stepmother Fannie Rials Pickett of McComb; one son Marvin Pickett Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters, Jearlene Lofton of Smithdale and Becky Armoney of Plaquemine, La; three brothers. Earl Pickett of Summit, Jewell Pickett of McCall Creek and Willie Pickett of Anniston, Ala.; two sisters, Ailene Westbrook of Summit and Anell Arnold of Smithdale; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
