It Took Place This Afternoon and Was
Largely Attended

One of the largest funerals that have taken place in town in recent times was that of the late Joseph K. Kehler, which took place at one o'clock this afternoon from the family residence on North Main street. A large number of relatives and friends from all parts of the country and many from distant points were in attendance. The members of Washington Camp No. 112, P.O.S. of A, of which the deceased was a long and honored member, attended the funeral in a body. The services were held at the residence, Rev. I.J. Reitz, pastor of the United Evangelical church, officiating. The remains were encased in an expensive casket which was covered by beautiful floral offerings in many designs. Upon the conclusion of the service the cortege proceeded to the Odd Fellows cemetery, where the interment was made in the family plot. The pall bearers were R. Stocker, Louis B Seltzer, C.W. Dengler, Samuel Lindenmuth, David Faust and John L. Hassler. Amoung the attendants at the funeral were B.K. Kehler, Philadelphia; Frank Kehler, Mohontongo; Thomas Glenwright and family and Mrs. Godfrey, Minersville; William Snyder and family, Allentown;John Dunkelberger and family, Irwin and Oscar Wetzel and Rev. G.W. Gross, Shamokin; Hon. F.J. Kehler, Irvin, Robert, Albert and Calvin Kehler and there families and Jacob Hepler and Jackson Kehler and families of Locust Dale; Elias Wolfgang and family and Charles Gable and family, Ashland; Thomas Sobey and family, Mahoney Plane;
J.J. Kehler and Henry Snyder and families, Frackville; Isaac Christ and family, Tamaqua; William Hoppes and family, Mahanoy City.
