Lewis was the first child of John Bromley and wife Eliza Palmer married in Danby, VT.
Lewis Bromley was joined in marriage to Catherine Ann Irons Dec 26, 1819 in Baltimore, MD by the Rev Dr. Haley. She was the daughter of Thomas and Delia (Scott) Irons of Elk Ridge, MD born June 12, 1800.
Lewis was one of the most respected citizens of his day. He was one of the defenders of Baltimore during the war of 1812-14.
Lewis and Catherine had the following children:
1) John Lewis born Dec 24, 1820
2) Lewis Jr. born Dec 5, 1822, died young
3) Washington Lafayette born Oct 15, 1824
4) Thomas Irons born May 14, 1827
5) Catherine Ann born Dec 1, 1830
6) Robert William born Dec 18, 1832, died young
