SYMSONIA — Billy Joe Farmer, 66, of Symsonia passed away at 8:42 a.m. Sunday, May 1, 2011, at his residence.

Mr. Farmer was a retired carpenter and a dedicated father and grandfather.

Surviving are his wife, Jerry Farmer; two sons, Timmy Farmer of Grand Rivers and Anthony Farmer of Symsonia; four daughters, Tammy Hogue of Paducah, Jenny Trout of Metropolis, Tonya Lynn of Paducah, and Billie Joe Farmer of Symsonia; one brother, Mark Farmer of Symsonia; eleven grandchildren, Breanne Farmer, Hunter Farmer, Faith Ann Shields, Anthony Hogue, Shelby Farmer, Briana Trout, Holly Jones, Darian Jones, Braden Jones, Misten Farmer and Christina Farmer; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Kathleen Farmer; three brothers, Curtis Eddie, James Oscar and Danny Farmer; and five sisters, Betty Velt, Barbara Thompson, Carolyn Baker, Sandy Gossett, and Cathy Farmer.

Services will be at 12 p.m. Wednesday at Lindsey Funeral Home, with Rev. Topper Council officiating. Burial will follow at Palestine Cemetery in West Paducah.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 am until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
