"Rev. Harold Sidney Diffie became part of the family of Sid and Lola Davidson Diffie on April 17, 1929, in El Dorado, AR. He went home on March 23, 2012, at the age of 82.

He grew up in the Shuler oil fields and graduated from El Dorado High School in 1947. He graduated from Southern State College in Magnolia, AR with a degree in Business.

Harold met his lifelong sweetheart, Gloria Kramer, on a blind date in 1948. They were joined in marriage on July 20, 1950, by Rev. Jay Tollison at Immanuel Baptist Church in El Dorado. To this union was born four children.

He served with the Army Combat Engineers during the Korean War and attained the rank of Sergeant First Class, and serving in the reserves after his release from active duty.

He was ordained as a Southern Baptist minister on November 30, 1952, by Second Baptist Church in El Dorado. He was a bi-vocational pastor. He pastored Knowles Baptist and New London Baptist while working for Arkansas Power and Light for thirty-one years as a customer service representative. He was a Master Mason of Union Lodge 750 in El Dorado. He was a 32nd degree Mason of the Little Rock Temple. He served as DeMolay advisor for seventeen years. He was awarded DeMolay Cross of Honor and DeMolay Legend of Honor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Murphy Joe Diffie of Oakland, CA; one sister, Dorothy Campbell of Rogers, AR; and one precious granddaughter, Sydney Odom who was five days old when she died.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Diffie; two sons, Mike Diffie (Merridee), and Mark Diffie (Jennifer); two daughters, Marsha Diffie and Melanie Odom all of El Dorado; granddaughters, Nikki Odom and Marissa Diffie; grandsons, Michael Diffie, Matthew Diffie, Chance Gales, Cory Christy and John Christy, one sister, Tillie Williams of Dallas, TX and several cousins and friends, especially Mary Ann Smith that has cared for Harold and Gloria. Also surviving is his church family of 31 years at New London Baptist Church.

This is not a goodbye from Harold, but I'll see you later.

The family will receive friends at Young's from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, March 25.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 26, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, with Rev. Steve Pelz and Rev. Tommy Nash officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.

Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital Foundation, P.O. Drawer 2222, Little Rock, AR 72203-9984."
