ANTHONY, N.M.--Graveside services for Lila H. Bennett, 87, of Anthony, N.M., will be held at 9 a.m. today at the Carlsbad Cemetery.

Jess Buckner of the Church of Jesus Church of Latter Day Saints will officiate. West Funeral Home Inc. is handling the arrangements.

Mrs. Bennett died Saturday (June 25, 1994) in a Las Cruces, N.M., hospital.

She was born Feb. 16, 1907, in Granite, Utah, to Thomas and Alice Harwood. While she was a young girl, the Harwood family moved to Grace, Idaho, where she attended high school and later married Orin Bennett on May 2, 1928. They had five children.

In March 1947, the Bennett family moved to Carlsbad, where Mrs. Bennett lived and raised her family. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1976, two children and one grandson.

She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors include one son, Roger Bennett of Bountiful, Utah; two daughters, Sharon Mason of Anthony, and Glenda Blair of Carlsbad; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
