Passes On Sunday;
Funeral Tuesday
Lester Joe Gook,62, of Weaver-
ville Rt. 1, died Sunday morning,
July 19, 1970 in an Oteen hospital
after a long illness.
Mr. Cook, a veteran of World
War II, formerly worked at Mc-
Cormick Field and Walker Tobac-
co Warkhouse.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs.
Polly Thomas Cook; a daughter,
Mrs. F. M. Ingle of Weaverville;
his step-mother, Mrs. Annie Cook
of Marshall; three sisters, Mrs.
Evelyn Bradshaw of Spartanburg,
S. C., Mrs. Joe Landers of Lin-
coln Park,Mich., and Mrs. Nead
Gentry of Marshall ; three broth-
ers, James of Dayton, Ohio, Ches-
ter of Miami Beach, Fla., and
Fred Cook of Greeneville, Tenn.,
and three grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p. m.,
Tuesday in the chapel of West
Funeral Home, Weaverville.
The Rev. David Parks and the
Rev. H. B. Dendy officiated. Buri-
al was in West Memorial Park
Weaverville.
Pallbearers were Paul Cutshall,
J. B. Rash, R. J. Ingle, F. M. In-
gle, Sr., James and David Thom-
