Alexander McKesson (b. 1701-d. 1770) married Mary Ward. His father was John McKesson, whose father, also John, was from Argyle, Scotland
Alexander and Mary McKesson's son William (1747-1826), married Sarah (Reed) in 1771. Their daughter, Maria (1774-1858) married William W. Taylor (1769-1832). William W's parents were Esther Haslit (first of 4 wives) and Robert Tayor. William McKesson was Revenue Collector for Adams Cty. His brother, Alexander, Jr., was captured and held by the Indians for some years. Their brother, John, was a lawyer in NY. His sister, Maria, lived with him.
Wm and Sarah McKesson lived and died in Adams Co Pa, four miles from Emmittsburg, MD, two miles from Millersburg or Millerstown, PA and eight miles from Gettysburg, PA. Their son, John, was educated in Carlisle (as an attorney) and joined his uncle John in New York.
