Funeral services for Essie Lucille Nichols Martin, 78, of Simpson will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007 at the Simpson Church of God in Simpson with the Rev. Carol Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Welcome Cemetery in Simpson under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville. Essie Lucille Martin went home to be with Jesus on her birthday, Feb. 17, 2007 at the age of 78 years. Lucille was born Feb. 17, 1929 to Thomas J. and Mary S. Nichols in Rapides Parish. She married her
true love, W.L., in 1953 and they made their residence in Simpson. They fostered three children, Barbara, Betty and Brenda before adopting David and Nancy. She was preceded in death by her husband W.L. and her brother Willie. She is survived by her son David Martin and wife Shawn of Gardner; her daughter Nancy Martin of Loveland, Colo.; one sister, Edna LeDoux of Murfreesboro, Tenn.
