REIDSVILLE - Gordon Joseph Handy, 76, of 250 Water Works Road, died Friday, Feb. 7, 1997, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro. The graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday in Evergreen Memory Gardens, with the Rev. Bill Roberts and the Rev. Dan Jones officiating. A son of Joe S. Handy and the late Elva Light Handy, he was the former owner of Handy Electric Company. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, the American Legion Post 79, and was a World War II Navy veteran. He had lived in Reidsville most of his life. He is survived by his wife, Inez Strader Handy of the home; son, Gordon Keith Handy and wife, Donna W. Handy of Reidsville; daughter, Karen H. Steger and husband, Bill Steger of Reidsville; granddaughter, Paige Steger; father, Joe S. Handy of Reidsville; brother, Wayne Handy of Greensboro; and two sisters, Dorothy Burgess of Reidsville, and Frances Foster of Ruffin. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday at Citty Funeral Home, and other times at the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to Mizpah United Methodist Church, c/o Horace Jones, 844 Flat Rock Road, Reidsville, N.C. 27320; or to First Congregational Christian Church, 1863 S.
