Death of Grandma Barber.
MRS. ELLEN BARBER, mother of A. J. Barber, of this city, and of Judge John Barber, of Colfax township, died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Martha McHenry, north of Eagleville, on last Saturday, aged 80 years, 8 months, and 4 days.
Deceased was born in Pennsylvania, Feb. 16th, 1892 [sic], and moved with her parents to Martinsburg, Ohio, in 1824. When 14 years of age, she joined the M. E. church and remained a faithful and consistent member of the same until her death. She was married to Aquilla C. Barber, at Martinsburg, on December 25th, 1834. They removed to this county in 1855.
Funeral services were held at the M. E. church, Eagleville, at 1 o'clock p. m., on Sunday last, conducted by Revs. Wood and Miller, after which the remains of this truly good woman was intered [sic] in the cemetery. Peace be to her ashes.
