Dr. Everett Vincent Reneer, 84, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at his home in Bryan. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 17 at Hillier Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18 at Biloxi City Cemetery in Biloxi, Miss.

Everett, the eldest of nine children, was born in Centertown, Ky., to Luther and Anna Wylene Reneer. After graduating from Centertown High School in 1939, he joined his father at the Standard Forging Corporation Steel Mill in Chicago. He was inducted into the United States Army on November 17, 1942. While serving his country during World War II, he was awarded the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the American Theatre Ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Stars, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct Medal, a Bronze Arrowhead and the Victory Medal-World War Two.

Everett received a Bachelor's degree from Mississippi College in 1948, and was ordained a Baptist Minister and certified Chaplain. He received his doctorate from the University of St. Andrews (Scotland) in 1961. He was a professor at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Mo., until 1975. He then moved to Abilene, Texas, where he started a Christian marriage and family counseling center. He also started Christian Counseling Centers in Lombard, Ill., and Conroe, Texas. He retired to Bryan in 1995, where he was a member of First Baptist Church College Station and the Noon Lion's Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Eula Lee Brown; his brother, Reid Reneer; and his step-daughter, Carol Thomas.

Survivors include his wife, Marcine Reneer; sons, Russell Reneer and wife, Barbara, and Bernal Reneer and wife, Mary; daughter, Janice Winans; step-son, Guy Thomas and wife, Kelly; step-daughter, Susan Fleischer; brother, Rex Reneer; sisters, Amelia Jo Revere, Colleen Reneer, Jeanene Reneer, Carolyn Hopper, Marylou Brabandt and Patricia Fleener; grandchildren, Emily Reneer, Amanda Reneer, Cole Reneer, Amanda Winans, Brandy Winans, Will Thomas and Robby Thomas.
