THE FULTON PATRIOT, THURSDAY MAY 18, 1933. Lysander - Died --On Thursday night at the home of her step-son near Fulton, on Volney side, of internal cancer, Mrs. Martin Cole, aged 70. She had been a great sufferer. She lived many years in Lysander and vicinity. Rev E. H. VanScoy officiated. Charles Fancher conducted the funeral; interment in Lysander Cemetery. RECENT DEATHS: Mrs. Mahala Cole at the home of her stepson, Charles M. Esteman, Volney, 11 May, Mrs. Mahala Cole, aged 68 years. Surviving are her husband, Martin V. Cole of Lysander; four step-sons, Stanley and Frank Esteman of Volney, Howard, Fulton, and Arthur of Oakland, Calif; a step-daughter, Mrs. Ella Webster of Los Angeles, Calif; two sister and one brother of Lysander and Rochester. Funeral services were held from the Lysander M. E. Church, Sunday afternoon; interment in Lysander cemetery. Mrs. Cole was a native of Canada, coming to this country when a young girl.

Mahala was a cook from about 1900-1910 at the Syracuse Home Association in Syracuse, N.Y. Based on the 1900 US Census, she was married; however, she was widowed,10 years later.
