Ruth E. (Goldie) Jackson, a resident of Stoughton for over 50 years, died Saturday, Feb. 25 at Steward Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was 84. Mrs. Jackson was the loving wife of Jay F. Jackson. Born March 1, 1927, Mrs. Jackson was the daughter of the late Oman and Anna (Hunter) Goldie. She worked for many years as the manager of Factory Mutual Insurance of Norwood. Mrs. Jackson was an avid bowler who belonged to several bowling leagues and was a Red Sox fan. She also enjoyed traveling to Florida for the winter months with her husband. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Jackson is survived by three children, Jay F., and his wife Lori of Arlington, Stephen R. of Stoughton and David S. and his wife Patricia of CT. She was the grandmother of Matthew and Andrew Dallas and Christopher and Jenny Jackson. Mrs. Jackson was also the sister of Louise Goldie of Arlington and Charles Goldie of Scituate and the aunt of James, Charlotte, Robert and Luana. A funeral service will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., Stoughton, Wednesday, Feb. 29 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
