Her husband, Arthur Northwick, truck driver, has been unemployed since last summer, but according to the girl's father, David C. Babcock, she wasn't permitted a moment of worry about finances so long as her parents were there to provide for her.
Born in London, Wis., on Feb. 3, 1914, Maisel Babcock attended graded school in Merrimac, her first year of high school in Sauk City, and her sophomore and junior years at high, school in Verona, where her father is agent for the North Western road.
Elopes To Illinois
During her junior year she met Arthur Northwick, and in January, 1931, just short time before her 17th birthday, she eloped with him and was married by a justice of the peace in Illinois. She continued her school work until the close of her Junior year, the young couple living with her parents. Her mother disapproved of the civil ceremony, so to please her mother, Maisel and her husband were remarried after the close of the school year at the First Methodist church at Rockford.
Her husband, employed on a road job near Stoughton, was laid off late in the summer, but Mr. and Mrs. Babcock gave her no opportunity to worry about the expected baby.
Sons Are Named
So she had no name selected for the twin boys who have been named Kenneth Wayne and Kermit Wynn by their grandparents and father.
According to Mr. Babcock, the two babies will be cared for by their grandmother who is anxious to have them in their home, particularly since their father at present has no facilities for caring for them.
Three brothers who survive Mrs. Northwick are Harlan, Kenneth, and David Babcock, all of Verona.
Burial will be In the Verona cemetery.
