Juanita Bernice Buchanan, age 92, passed from this life Tuesday, September 23, 2014 in Chipley, FL. She was born in West Bay, FL on October 31, 1921 to Burean F. and Ethel (Barett) Sasnett. Mrs. Buchanan worked as an LPN at Washington County Hospital, was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Chipley and has lived here for the past 51 years coming from Panama City, FL in 1963.
Mrs. Buchanan is survived by her husband Buck Buchanan of Chipley, FL. One son: Fred Buchanan and wife Amelia of Chipley, FL. One daughter: Connie Buchanan Shuller and husband Chuck of Tallahassee, FL. One brother: Warren Sasnett of Tallahassee, FL. One sister: Ruth Carmichael of Monroe, LA. Four grandchildren: Canita Gunter Peterson of Tallahassee, FL, Mini Watson of Tallahassee, FL, Missy Buchanan of San Francisco, CA, and Casie Buchanan of Panama City, FL and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 29, 2014 at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry May officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Chipley, FL or Gideon’s International.
