Bonita Jean Gilbreth, a long time resident of East County, died on June 1, 2011 in Portland. She was 68 years of age.

Bonita was born on October 24, 1942 in Portland, Oregon and was the daughter of Everett and Grace (Thomas) Clark. She graduated from Reynolds High School and later in life completed her Bachelor's Degree in Social Science at Marylhurst College. She worked at the Bradley Engle House and for Washington County DHS. She later worked as a Human Resources Manager for the State of Oregon. She retired in 2004.

Bonita had many hobbies. She loved to travel and was a member of the Winnegonians Motor Home Club, the Oregon Winne-Itasca Club and the Cascade Travelers. She also held offices in each of the clubs. She enjoyed the beach, spending time with her family and helping children. Bonita had a gift for comforting youth and granting second chances. She saw the best in people even when it was buried deep, below the surface. She was strong and caring and touched many lives. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
