Dot Baker, 64, died Thursday, May 15, 2008, with her family at her bedside.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at New Life Church of Christ, 2125 N. Nolan River Road, Cleburne. Interment: Baker-Lain Cemetery, Johnson County. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook.
Dot was born April 26, 1944, in Cleburne, where she was raised. After high school Dot became a military wife. She raised three sons while stationed at various stateside duty stations. Returning to Texas in 1979, she settled in Benbrook and was employed at General Dynamics and other electronics assembly jobs before retirement in 1995. Dot's love for bowling and quilting became her life pleasures. She completed many hand-sewn quilts.
She was secretary for the Saturday Nite Doubles Bowling League for over 20 years, where she leaves many, many good friends. Dot enjoyed her Rio Vista quilters group, Tuesday Ladies League, and the Thursday Seniors League. She leaves behind a loving family and many friends.
Dot was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Peugh; mother, Helen Peugh; and brother, Odell Peugh.
Survivors: Husband of 44 years, Paul Baker of Benbrook; sons, Stephen Baker of Mansfield, Eric Baker and wife, Brandy of Burleson, and Matthew Baker and wife, Belinda of Benbrook; 10 grandchildren, Daniel, 19, Ethan, 16, Britlea, 15, Randall, 15, Bailey, 12, Alex, 10, Kacey, 9, Brice, 8, Sara, 6, and Emiley, 5; and sisters, Elaine Woodard of Rio Vista, Judy Trussell of Cleburne and Cathy Hutcheson of Rio Vista.
