Born 19 May 1765 at Worcester(Southborough)MA, son of Abraham Taylor and Rachel Howe, "A Revolutionary wagon boy."
He married first Betsy Lovell, daughter of Jonathan Lovell and Mercy Raymond on 18 Feb 1789 at Worcester. They removed to Lisbon (Sugar Hills) NH where he was a founding settler, longtime town officer, Justice of the Peace and very active, as Deacon, in the local church. He died there 16 Mar 1862. They had 10 children.
