Shirley Anic, 68, formerly of La Crosse, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 1995, in Seattle, Wash. She was born on March 23, 1927, to Neal and Violet (Papacek) Smith. She married Arthur Anic on June 21, 1947, in La Crosse. He preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1982. Shirley attended elementary school in La Crosse and also attended Aquinas High School. She moved to Seattle in 1959.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Bill) Richards of Seattle; three sons, Mike Anic, Daniel (Cori) Anic, and Kevin Anic, all of Seattle; six grandchildren; one brother, Curt (Arlene) Smith of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; and two step-sisters, Bernice Soloman and Esther Creeden. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, rural Brownsville, Minn. Funeral services were held in Seattle. Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crescent is in charge of local arrangements.
