He was born in Muskogee, Okla., Aug. 9, 1926, and had been a Lincoln resident the past year. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Clem had worked as a machinist for Food Machinery Company for 20 years. He was a tribal member of the Cherokee Nation, a member of Cherokees of Northern California Club, American Legion in Weed and a member of the California Sheriff Assn. Mr. Clem enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening and was very family-oriented.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Clem of Lincoln; two daughters, Jacklyn E. Sheehan and Barbara L. Clem, both of Lincoln; a son, Gary E. Clem of Rio Linda; a sister, Carolyn Sue Schubach of Stockton; brothers, Albert Wood of Los Banos, Edwin Clem of Fair Oaks and Samuel Wood of Lathrop; six grand-children and two great-grandsons."
