Services for Archie A. "Moose" "Pete" Burns III were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Flatwoods United Pentecostal Church, Flatwoods with Revs. Gene Sanders and Roland George officiating. Interment followed in Flatwoods Cemetery, Flatwoods.

Archie A. "Pete" Burns III, 54, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Mae White Burns; aunt Louvenia Reeder; and brother, Harold Whatley.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cherrie Burns; sons, Derrick Burns and wife Sarah, Lanny Burns and wife Gwenette, Joshua Burns and Eric Burns; three grandchildren, Coby Dewayne Burns, Derrick Hunter Burns and Hailey Nicole Burns; sister, Amy Nichols and husband John; brothers, Scotty Burns and wife Lisa and Roger Whatley and wife Margaret; and father, Archie Burns II.

Pallbearers will be Derrick Burns, Lanny Burns, Joshua Burns, Eric Burns, Richard Bennett and Kervin White. Honorary pallbearer will be Jesse Nichols.
