William (Bill) Jeffries was born October 7, 1923, to Willis and Minnie (Lockett) Jeffries of Hamlet, Nebraska. Bill graduated high school in Hamlet, Nebraska. Bill passed away, May 22, 2011, at the Imperial Manor Nursing Home. He was 87 years of age.

Bill then joined the Army Air Corp where he was a tail gunner until the end of the European Campaign of World War II. Bill received the Purple Heart medal.

Bill was married to Gladys Bischoff on May 8th, 1946, and two children were born to this union: Danny and Kathryn. He sold feed and seed for many years and was also the Veterans' Service Officer for Chase County.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, one older brother Bunny, three sisters Louise, Helena and Jerry.

Survivors are: Son: Danny of Wauneta, NE Daughter: Kathryn Crabbs and husband William of Littleton, CO. Sister: Nellie Rose Bishop and husband, John, of Gilbert, AZ 5 Grandchildren: Frank Jeffries, Jessie Jeffries, Bonnie Tiller and husband Jeremy, Willis Crabbs, and Josephine Crabbs. 5 Great-Grandchildren: Tanaya, Declan, Falen, Lucian and Lilah. Brother-In-Laws: Dale Bischoff of Wauneta, NE, and Clifford Shackelford and a host of relatives and friends.

Inurnment was in Riverside Cemetery.
