Mr. Blease attended preparatory school at Riverside Military Academy. He graduated from Babson Institute in Wellesley, Massachusetts, receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a retired business owner of a furniture refinishing company. Earlier vocations included general contractor and building repairs and remodeling.
Mr. Blease was a 50 year Master Mason, a 50 year 33rd Degree Mason of the Scottish Rite, Past Master of St. John Masonic Lodge 184, a member of Moody Lodge 719, Fellowship Daylight Lodge 746, Sholto Lodge 237 and Past Master of Morven Lodge 254.
Mr. Blease is survived by two step-sons and daughters-in-law: Nicholas J. Valenti, Jr. and Ginger Valenti of Valdosta, and Douglas J. and Terri Valenti of Palo Alto, California; a step-daughter and son-in-law, Sheree and Paul Firth of Chattanooga, Tennessee; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Numerous cousins also survive, including two first cousins, Linnie Christine Blease Peek of Palmetto, Georgia and Warren R. Blease, III of San Diego, California.
In keeping with Mr. Blease's wishes, he was cremated. A graveside memorial service was held Saturday January 25, 2014, at 2 pm at Woodlawn City Cemetery in Adel, Georgia with local Masons performing the Masonic Burial Rites and Nick Valenti providing the eulogy.
